Please use spoiler tags for secrets.

The chaos shard is in the astronomy tower. The readables there should help you on your way.

Mystforge wand is also in the astronomy tower, above a door.

I was so so so happy to see a new mission from my favourite FM-author

Finished loot with 4487/4792, found 3/5 secrets and all 8 wands

Amazing mission as usual. Mansion missions like this are my favourite type of missions. Interesting storyline, some hidden loot and secrets and those new guys... really creepy! But creepy in the way I like it, not zombie/haunt like. Not to mention those new mage-types.

Nicked, I know how much work and how time-consuming working with dromed is, but I hope youŽll keep on giving us new missions in the future aswell. I canŽt express how grateful I am for all this amazing missions you make. I enjoy playing them over and over again. We will never get new OMs from our beloved thief, but being able to play your missions makes the feeling less painful

There is a readable somewhere that gives a hint (about "moon" or "moonlight").

I think all you need to do is swivel the telescope at the top of the observatory to be "viewing" the moon, and the moonlight will make the shard appear on the table near Lubold(?)'s bed.

Thank you very much for making this mission, it's great to see such a well polished mission again! Finished it with normal and expert difficulty.

I liked the custom content and the storyline, everything came together in a coherent way. The construct guards were pretty scary, it's a nice touch how they make a loud noise when they hear you and pretty frightening how fast they get to you.. The level looks very well put together and I enjoyed exploring every part of it. + points for having a more or less linear path in the mission. While I don't mind huge levels in thief, sometimes it get's boring or too time consuming to find the missing key or a random room in a huge mansion. The level here is still big, but the plot and partial map guides the player in a way that I don't end up mindlessly searching behind every piece of furniture for a button or item after blackjacking everyone in the level.

While I appreciate the ghosting optional objective, I didn't find it fun enough to actually try ghosting. It results in me saving/loading way too often that it breaks the immersion. And there was no way around saving often because sometimes I would run into bugs like climbing a bookshelf and an invisible force randomly catapults me into the wall killing me instantly. Also, I did finish it twice, but I found the second half of the mission to be pretty repetetive. Too much going back and forth between the astronomy tower and the keep. There are many areas that I missed entirely on my first playthrough that had nothing of interest in them objective wise (captain's house for example) that I think could have been used instead to make it more interesting. But other than that I really enjoyed this mission, thanks again!

Super cool mission. I played on Hard and gave up on ghosting around the time I got to the Astronomy Tower. Not because of anything about that section in particular, I just got impatient. Anyway, I really like wizard missions because they tend to have strange and unusual stuff, and this one certainly did. I appreciated all the new additions and thought there was an overall sense of believability to the place. Yes, things are mystical and weird, but I could really imagine the wizards working and living there. And the auto-notes feature was very slick. Thank you Nicked!

    Great mission, nicked!

Finished on expert, around 500 short on loot.
Not a ghoster, otherwise it would have taken me forever!
Nice to still see some new ideas being used.
    One I shall play again.

    Hi nicked.

This is by far the best mission I've played for a long time.
    Great work!

The garden is at the top of one of the spiral staircases in the keep.

I enjoyed this FM. I'm happy that the ghost goal is optional. I left a lot of sleeping wizards around. This will be a nice FM to play again, trying to ghost it and get all secrets and loot. Thanks Nicked for another fun and imaginative FM.

After 20 years of bonking my way through FMs I successfully ghosted (kind of) a mission! I did have to put a torch out, but I was never seen (optional objective) and I managed to get all 8 wands.
Normal difficulty, short about 1k loot and 3 secrets. Well I found 3, but couldn't reach one.

This one was a lot of fun, with some creepy new enemies, gameplay twists, and inevitable betrayal.
I'm curious what will happen next without the stele to guide the academy?

Nicked, I have a question: In my 2. playthrough of this great mission I ghosted through it and I noticed that the two creepy creatures that were kept in 2 separate cells were walking around. The cells were open.

Did I accidently open them or does a mage open them after some time? In my first playthrough I knocked every mage out and those two stayed in their cells, so I assume a mage opens them. What triggers it?

The ground floor constructs can either be released by an alerted mage, or they will be released by Kethmar when he discovers the trapped chest has been opened. So yes, if you previously knocked out everyone, it's conceivable they would never have been released.

Finally finished this one. I played it in chunks as time's been limited. I enjoyed Nest of Vipers a lot and I think it's among nicked's finest FMs yet. Thanks for this great FM! I completed the optional ghost objective and found 7/8 wands on my own and the last one (Mystforge wand) with a little help on the forums, loot: 4387/4792, secrets: 4/5, time: 2h 8min.

I need a bit of help. I have all the wands except the fire opal one and I think I finished sweeping the keep. Where is it?

Fire Opal wand (unless I moved it before release, hmm... ) should be in the room with lava off the laboratory in the Keep, ground floor North west.

Thanks for your help, nicked! i completely missed that laboratory, because I didn't know the two constructs at the entrance were idle and didn't dare to venture forward.

I managed to finish with almost 4500 loot and found 3 secrets. This mission is a real gem, I liked it very much. The constructs give off a strong Shalebridge cradle vibe and once they spot you they become even more fearsome. Excellent enemy design (the "eye-ball" was really difficult to get around with its all-seeing pulsating eyes). The graphical features integrated into the FM are beautiful, I really liked the secret room's disappearing wall in Kethmar's quarters and the paintings on the walls. The architecture is superb. Easy to navigate with the maps, but still challanging with the enemies around. I managed to find 3 of the 5 secrets on my own, which is in itself a miracle, since I'm very bad at finding them . I would have made a slightly bigger loot goal for Expert difficulty, it was just too easy to meet the default one.

Thank you for the good time I had with this examplary FM .

It took me 3hrs ghosting on expert and still missed 1000 loot of total and 2 secrets. I never felt stuck wandering around trying to figure things out.

Thank you! This was so much fun.
