Saved ya a click: you'll get a key if you backed the System Shock Remake at $30+ OR preordered it on PC.

When I backed the System Shock remake, this was one of the announced perks, so no surprise here.

It's probably been maybe 15 years since I played SS2, but at least this Rumbler looks pretty great.

Ship signage textures looks to be on-par with at least SHTUP (if it isn't just straight up including SHTUP).

I think that the textures don't look much different from what I have in my customised SS2 version. But the models I see in these images are way, way better looking.

Wish Nightdive was able to do a Thief Remaster like this. I look forward to trying this out. I'm happy to see how many platforms it's going to hit.

If only, if only. I think they would do it respectfully. Not holding my breath though.

Nightdive almost never messes up their remasters. If anyone could do it, it's them.

Embracer Group I imagine would be very much open to licensing out Thief. They're hurting for money ATM.

I'd imagine that much of the head aches of getting Dark Engine to work with ND's Kex wrapper engine will be solved with this SS2 remaster.

Here's hoping the remaster is a prelude to a full remake.

The remaster looks like SS2 with current mods and enhancements....so.... what? lol Maybe offer it to people who back a kickstarter for a full remake.

There's plenty of PC players that don't wanna deal with setting up mods, but I think the even bigger reason for this new version is selling it on consoles.

After seeing the trailer, the hybrids or the midwive models that I have in my current SS2 install with the mods still look better than the ones in the remaster.

I thought the models were far better than those I have in my modded SS2. What mods do you use for replacing the old models?

I honestly can't remember where I got mine after all this time. Maybe I'm just more used to these models and I like them better:

    Fair enough.

I remember that mod by the way, personally I disliked it because it was a major departure from SS2 style. Nightdive models seem to be much closer to the original.

I suppose so, since they probably worked upon the original models. But I've been playing with these models for so many years that I'm probably biased.

I'm more concerned by the use of the Kex Engine, wondering if it will retain the Dark engine feel.

Seems to me they also have better textures. They might have better animations as well considering they added some to the player arms/weapons and the robots, it's actually what I like the most about this remaster so far. It always bothered that we had a bunch of nice mods for the player arms/weapons yet no animation for them.

Ah damn I didn't realise they were using the Kex Engine
    That's a bit disapointing.

I didn't think anyone over the age of 12 actually liked the Rebirth "Midwives Gone Wild".

I'm fairly happy how the remaster looks so far, as I like the the original models (especially the midwives -- what really made them scary for me was the gaunt skeletal look and build of them, the exposed teeth and eyeballs and the nosehole).

Also, is it just me or do the enemies seem more nimble in the trailer -- the hybrids at 1:22, for example.

Not all of us are as grown up and sofisticated as you, ZB.
