    In Game Particle Effect Editor!

Recently in the "other place" a request was made for a program that allowed live particle effect editing. I decided to have a go at an in-game editor instead (the idea of looking at the leaked source code to really understand the parameters and then how to render and animate them was way too daunting, and it would have been the OldDark source).

I made some objects and a few squirrel scripts and created the Particle Editor:

The official FM name is just "Particle Editor" but you could abbreviate the thread title to call it Igpee.

The readme explains a few ways you can get any effects you like into your FM (if you're not familiar with DML files, now is a good time to get the hang of them).

Have fun with your particles! This took a very long time to make, but there were many times when it made me smile as things started working.

this is a really amazing idea!

i am however getting a corrupt zip from the download (571540 bytes—looks like it is being truncated). can you check the file and/or put up another mirror?

File re-uploaded, when I first added it I had an awkward situation with my internet access. There also seems to have been a problem with one of the object textures, so I've remade that, and checked that the download shows no errors. Also uploaded to mediafire too. Link in first post.

I lost my mind and unzipped the files to my thief 2 folder. Then my broadhead arrow shafts turned into green arrows.

After I deleted the files I ran the demo as a FM and it worked nicely.
