    a Thief birthday wish

Hi Taffers, on the 27th of June this year it's my 50th and 20 years of experience birthday, so I'm going to be 70 years old. I hate it, I don't feel it, but it's the truth.
The Taffers who know me, know I'm a player of the Thief game from the start when the Dark Project came out. I played all the original games, sorry, I didn't finish Thief 4, because I always got caught up with the Thief fanmissions, playing them or testing them.
I made friends here and also lost some of them, but I'm still here on this forum off and on, as real life got me moving around a bit. But I'll still be here on this forum. I hope it lasts forever!
Some Taffer friends already made some missions which had a link to me as a "Thiefperson" and I'm so grateful to have such much friends here on this forum. You all are my second family!!!

I just want to ask something for me now, for this dreadful birthday (it is to me). Would someone make me a FM, with a Dewdrop dolly and a Teddybear in it? It doesn't need to be finished on my birthday date, but it just would be special to me.
I already had a lot of special "me" moments in missions from the past and I cherish them all.
I'm proud to be a Thief member!

There're angels who playThief and angels who don't ........ both go to heaven ............

Hey Gloria I don't make missions but I am not too far behind you in age I will be 66 in a few months!! I have been coming here since the beginning and consider the community close friends.

I hope someone will fulfill your B-Day wish and I hope you continue to be a big part of this extended family!

I'll be 62 on June 28th and I've been playing Thief for about 14-15 years and I'm not ready to stop. I hope someone can satisfy your request.

Hello, Gloria! I'm 40 years younger, but you make me feel better about my continued involvement and interest with Thief. You validate my convincement that in my older man years; I'll be ignoring the family (when it comes) and in another comfy office of mine facing the woods, with a computer that still has Thief running on it somehow. Without being actual "friends" with anyone here, I still recognize not only your username but others as well after all this time. It gave me a strange sense of pride, and I suppose because it's truly my first online community at, like, 13 and it still breathes today. My early past here was silly at best, lol. My attention span for Thief does wax and wane, but the last two years have waxed hard and almost in a manner that it used to feel as a young teen. I can't put my finger on why, but it feels good. I play totally different now and get a new enjoyment out of it. Now I'm on the prowl for immersive missions that I hadn't fooled around through years ago. I used to build like crazy (and NEVER finish let alone release anything, lol) Anyway, sorry. Man did I type a lot.

I'm looking forward to see how this turns out =)

Edit: Happy birthday Gloria, with many happy, healthy, Thiefy returns.

Well I'm looking at 57 in July and I have loved the thief series and played since close to the beginning. I would definitely like a new Dewdrop and Teddybear mission too. I also consider everyone on this forum as extended family. There is no place else like it.

I appreciate all of the TTLG members that have been here since the early days and are still here. It's always good to see new people come here as well.

Gloria I'm already working on my next mission, and I'll be sure to include Dew Drop and a teddy bear.

I'm relatively new to this forum and only got back into Thief because I was tidying up my old CD / DVD games and came upon Thief 2. I then discovered the wonderful world of Thief Fan Missions and have been pretty much addicted to them since.

I'm also an old fogey as I'm 65 later this month.

    70! Already?

I feel like the current mission building contest idea thread just found it's theme.

Hi Gloria! Happy birthday! My upcoming FM has a perfect place where that teddy bear could be, since the raindrop doll is already there. It's a sad place but I think you'll appreciate it regardless. I just need the teddy bear object now!

    Hi Gloria

I have been a forum member and a Thief player for awhile now. Thief has gotten me through some truly challenging times in my youth and now it has become something that helps me de-stress as I get older. This forum is the only online community that I feel a part of and follow. Your posts on this forum have always been something that puts a smile on my face and that I make sure I take the time to read.

If this were a Keeper Council meeting I can honestly say I wouldn't pay attention to most of it, but I always greatly enjoy reading what you share.

The continuity, frivolity, and humor you have has been something that I have come to cherish and truly appreciate. Thank you for bringing so much life to this community! I know that you have impacted people here in a wonderful way...myself included.

Let me add that it says "new member" since 2014....but I have been here earlier but have forgotten various logins and passwords. Like a true Pagan at heart...I struggle sometimes to understand these newfangled devices.

kubrick you said raindrop doll, are you referring to lady rowena raindrop in her seven sisters mission day 2?

    or did you mean dewdrop?

Check out some of Christine Schneider's FMs. I believe she has a teddy bear object in Wedding of Sir Andre and at least one or two more.

WOW to all of you Taffers, you got my tears flowing here after reading these replies. Thank you so much for your positive remarks. XXX I still have 23 days to go to my birthday, but it's creeping up onto me.
I think no one else than a Taffer can relate to what this game has meant for a lot of us through all of these years, since 1998, when The Dark Project came out.
Years ago I met Cardia in Porto and we would walk on the streets there and used to recall phrases about something like: chase away the hoofed liar....a.s.o. It was awesome! Nightshifter and Redleaf visited me in my country, in the south of the Netherlands and we had an awesome time together. Nightshifter is still my buddy when I need to update my Thief files BTW and did you know he's a bassplayer with the TooMutzBluesBand? I ow him a lot! And Redleaf is a very dear Blues singer and musician with her band Mean Jeanne and the Blues Machine? Check them out if you like.
This is what a family is about, OUR Thief family, with our dear moderators, who keep on going to aid this forum. I have a lot of respect for all of them on all the Thief forums.
And yes, I miss some Taffers we have lost, like Lady Rowena, for instance, I had a good contact with her in a, both of us difficult time. I really miss our conversations online and there were more, like the Blackman and others.
But I'm grateful to still have Taffers asking me to betatest for them, as a player, because I'm just a very tiny builder in process, which will probably end into nothing!, but I'm a writer and trying my best on a new adventure of a Taffer. My latest betatest was for John9818a and I was really happy he asked me to test his mission. He is a really good Dewdrop provider!!! Thanks John.
All personal contact with you Taffers is really dear to me. It makes me feel I'm back in my second family!
Thank you all for your input here.

I wish I could put a LIKE emoticon or AWESOME emoticon reply to a remark on this forum.
I would like to answer all of your replies here with a personal answer, but I know it would cloud up this link.
Moderators or programmers of this forum, is there a possibility in the future to put a link for that in somewhere?

Yeah, raindrop. Dewdrop is somewhere else but I doubt you'd like where. I have a small section that is a small homage to Lady Rowena, trying to capture some of her writing style and sensibilities.

I already got the teddy bear in place, thanks everyone! Unfortunately I'm dealing with a very time consuming memory bug on the FM which will surely make it take more time before release.

Do you guys really read the postings? Some people say it brings bad luck to wish a HB before the event.

I wouldn't think so. If I say happy birthday on June 27, I'm still saying it before next year's event.
