    T2 FM - The Karrassinian Threat (Oct 23rd, 2001)

My T2 mission is finally finished afer over a year in the making. Its available on my site (follow link at bottom) or grab it from Thiefmissions, Thief - The Circle or The Keep. Events in the game are very different depending on the difficulty levels so give it a go.
There should'nt be any or many bugs in it as I have been through it many times in testing.

    threat.zip (no briefing) - 5.6mB
    threat_b.zip (including briefing) - 11.3mB

If you dont want to bet the briefing version you can just watch the briefing in Real format on the same page as the missions.

    Cheers

I just downloaded it. Now I know what I'm doing this morning. The briefing is great, by the way.

WOW!!!What a mission!!! Damn fine effort Pbucko!!

    Very minor spoiler coming up:-

    Spoiler:
It took me twenty minutes just to find my way in!! I always play expert first time round and I think I'm right in saying you only get dumped out side the wall on expert (might be wrong about that though).

Well I'm going back to slogging my way through it

This is a must download FM, fine briefing too!!

Looking good so far, even though I've been stuck in the very beginning area for an hour..

    Spoiler:
How the hell do you get over the wall or get the gate open on expert? I'm almost hoping it's a bug so I don't feel so stupid about being stuck right off.

    Skeptic Intruder -
    Spoiler:
Go through the door to the east end and over to the little outbuilding on the far side that's up against the wall. Smash the window on the side with your blackjack and use a broadhead to hit the "UP" button on the far wall.

Some of you might consider the next sentence rife with spoilers. Get a job.

No map, uncertain about my next move, some unsettling encounters with certain AI, loads of guards...I'm happy.

    {EDIT - Clarity in all things...I must remember that.}

Ah, you mean that tiny little button that's blended into the shadows 10 feet away so that only an eagle with night-vision binoculars could possibly see it. How'd I miss that?

    Thanks Nightwalker.

I got the version without the briefing, but I can't download the level with the briefing. I get the message that it's "unavailable or can't be found." Is the threat_b.zip file on the Cheap Thief Mission Downloads page up-to-date?

Never mind. If I had only read the "Cheap and Ugly News," I would have seen that threat_b.zip was posted on the Cheap Thief Mission Downloads page yesterday.

Um where is this "cheap & ugly" news page? I can't find it anywhere and I get the same "page not found" error?

Thanks for the advertising, folks. Just to make sure there weren't problems downloading the mission files from my page, I pulled them both down from home and everything came through OK.

I generally read the forums once in the mornings and again in the evenings and will hopefully catch any mission announcements made then and grab the missions as soon as I can. Mission authors can always send things to me directly, of course.

Great mission...the best I've played in a while, but I have a question

    SPOILER

    SPOILER

    SPOILER

I'm playing on Hard, and I'm nearly done but can't find the info on the Karassinian Threat. I've got the cultivator already. Where is the info located?

    Spoiler:
Did you look really carefully around Layne's bed in his secret room?

    Ah, that's got it.

My mission ended shortly afterwards ... perhaps because I deactivated the second water pump earlier?

Anyway, this mission gets 9 out of 10 in my book. Going back to play on expert!

    Nightwalker-

    Spoiler:
Know where the closed Hammer temple is? In the southwest, it has a Hammerite in front of it and a bunch of guards. Anyways, jump in the waterway behind it and follow it to a flooded graveyard, then climb on top of one of the graves to shoot a rope arrow into the rafters. Then up, of course.

Man, this mission has some obscurely hidden puzzles.

Wow, that's weird. I tried and tried to get on top of those and finally gave up. I'll try again. Thanks!

    Karrassinian Threat - help needed

    Can anyone help?

I'm playing the absolutely superb FM Karrassinian Threat and am stuck on what seems a straight forward task - getting into Layne's house!!!.

    Spoilers ahead ...

I've got the note saying his key was reported lost and that a prostitute had been let out of jail that evening. I've found all the prostitutes, I think. One in the town, one in the hotel and the three in the red light zone. Can anyone tell me where I can find that elusive key.

    Thanks muchness.

    Spoiler:
The key isn't on a lady of the evening, it's in the jail. Go down through the floor opening into the cells and check the corners.
