Yeah, I'm playing it now. Great level! Haven't figured out where the chalice is myself because I suddenly got an uncharacteristic attack of motion sickness. I'll try looking for it later. Heh. The mini-museum was really cool.
wow that level is really awesome. How in the hell did he do that sprinkler system?
how in the hell did he do those spinning knives? AND WHERE IN THE HELL DID HE HIDE THE CHALICE? I CANT FIND THE DAMN THING ANYWHERE? AHHHH SHUCKS
WELL PEACE OUT
----------------------------
When evening in the town was gray
His footsteps came so barely heard
Before the dawn he went away
To disappear without a word
He traveled to and yonder by
to sneak and steal and run away
his skills unmatched for those who try
and who he is no one can say
The watchman guard and soldiers grew
to be snuck past without a fight
a thief he is, a good one too
a hooded demon who stalks the night
A deadly sword a stealing hand
his skills, he says, they can be sold
the guards they want to reprimand
this weary pilgrim on the road
His face is hidden in his hood
his dagger hangs from waist
to steal from those he can and would
a grin upon his silent face
a lord of lies crowned a thief
the silenced echos were heard afar
the jobs he pulled beyond belief
to follow where the shadows are

Yes, it's an awesome level.
The chalice... I suppose you did not just admire the spinning swords, but got the key? Fine... a chalice as valuable as this one will be kept most likely close to the heart of its owner, and far from the servents. Have a closer look at the room of the Lord, and try if there are more things that are frobable.![]()
Lytha complimented my level! I can now die happy.
I am working on a walkthrough, hopefully it will be ready in the next few days.
Myynock, are you by chance named after a certain creature from the Star Wars films? If so, you've got to stop chewin' on those power cables.
you ever go to the bathroom in the dark ?
its a strangely illuminating experience sometimes :P
I enjoyed reading those Star Wars inspired scrolls and books. Nice to see another SW fan.
It's definately a great mission. The story, traps, and special effects (lighting, running water) were all well thought out. And after one particularly mean trap...well, let's just say I was a helluva lot thinner.
Hmm, I'd say I was a but shorter
I finally finished the level and I must say it was by far the best player made mission I played so far. The best part for me was finally finding how to get the chalice and finally getting it. Kudos Trickster! (So that's why I saw the Trickster there). Let us know if you have any other level you are working on.
My favorite part of this mission so far was something I had never seen before. I went into a room on the first floor and turned off the light to hide. A few minutes later, someone came in and turned the light back on! (Fortunately I was still in a shadow in the corner). I don't know how this was done, but it was great.
Overall, it's a tough mission, a few more wooden floors might've been nice.
Trickster!!
Death of Garrett was a blast
Windows, how did you do the windows?
And when I broke a window, well let's just say I restarted ,and didn't try THAT again.
All the special effects were really nice.
Have you seen the NUTTY and very cool stuff in the blooper level in TG? It's a riot!
Keep it up!

I'm not sure if these are rhetorical questions, so I'll answer them briefly. If you want more detail I'll be happy to provide it (although the DromEd forum might be the place for that).
Sprinkler: a particle effect with the "spin speed" property set.
Spinning swords: very similar - swords with the Rotate and RotateState props set.
Windows: doors with Transparency set to 0.2 and the MatGlass metaproperty. I can't take credit for this, I copied the technique from Trimfect's "Gathering at the Bar."
I'm amazed (and delighted), suddenly all these Star Wars fans are coming out of the woodwork. Where have you all been?
And I have seen the blooper mission, it's funny as hell. I'm using the dancing zombies in my next mission.
We were being overrun by the trekkers. There seems to be more of them here than us.

Great level!!! Absolutely first class!
One problem - and I know that I'm the only one whose having this one, but I've cleaned out the mansion, and found my way to the secret door but I apparently need my lockpicks to open it and I was not able to find them at all - I feel pretty silly asking for this, but where are they?
Jeff: in supplication
PS: Loved the bidet, sprinklers, etc - you have an excellent design style and LG should hire you on!
You're not the only one having trouble finding the lockpicks. I'm working on a walkthough, but it's taking more time to write than I expected, so I'll give you several increasingly specific hints. Higlight below to see...
Hint #1: You have walked right by them.
Hint #2: You have looked right at them.
Hint #3: They're on the first floor of the mansion.
Hint #4: Where did you find the blackjack?

Are you listening, LGS?you have an excellent design style and LG should hire you on!

Blooper Mission?
Trickster,
I love what you just did with the invisible text - great way to do hints!
The funny thing is, I have looked in that stinking room like 5 times, figuring that it made the most sense for the lockpicks to be there - I'll look again! Every time I don't find them, I'm going to kick an unconscious guard in the ribs! (heheh)
Jeff: thanks!
Just wanted to say that I'm a Star Wars fan
too!
You're looking way too hard. Just casually glance about instead.

You like Keepers? I sure like Keepers. "Lesser Folly of Sentiment"... Stealing its way onto your hard drive soon..
Oh, you have to love the place he hid the lockpicks. It even took me a minute...
I add my voice to the praise, Trickster!
And it looks like he's got enough of playing mind dulling Quake...
If you know what I mean.
Oh, come on! You know! The Quake banner and the sign behind it!
If you got your blackjack and the sword right next to it, then you saw the lockpicks....
Trickster, I did the same exact thing. Got the BJ and the sword and MISSED the lockpicks. It's not your fault at all... it must be a human thing.Maybe we're all assuming too much, huh?
