    Citadel Conversion

Well, It seems that everyone was so desperate to see a SS1 conversion, but no-one wanted to help at all. So I will say it again....It doesn't matter how much you can do in ShockEd, all you need to be able to do is paint textures, and if you can't do that, then I will tell you how. I really need help, or otherwise the project is VERY close to shutting down.........

If you really don't know ANYTHING about ShockEd, but know how to open files in it, download MED (Look futher down for the link. There are instructions in the file and then e-mail me any problems you found................

    PLEASE..................Help........

Sorry, I don't have ShockEd on hand...
Once I'll have it, I might be able to help (though I need to work on TSP as well, and on other things). Regarding textures, isn't there a site with all the SS1 textures converted to SS2? (and all the levels half converted to SS2, though they're somewhat buggy)?

    Damn File!

Does someone have somewhere to host the damn file. Everywhere I try, either won't accept the file, or it refuses to upload.

Talk to thanos, show him this: "I, JediK, give Von Braun permission to send Raph a file and have it uploaded to pangeansoftware.net"

    MED File for Download......

You can now download an EARLY copy of the MED deck.

Bugs may (will) still be present. Also, Portalize the the level before opening it. If you don't, and then come here and complain, I will shout and do horrid things to you.

Now that I have said that......here we go,

    Have a file....

Also, Thanks to actsmiley for hosting the file.

I've found a web page that could save you alot of work... this was done by one of the previous attempts to convert SS1 to SS2. And, before you ask about it, I must clarify that this site was NOT, I repeat, NOT done by me, despite the name which, by pure coincidence, is similar to my TTLG forum user name.

Von Braun I downloaded that file but how do I open it up in Shock 2?
Note- Iam a newbie with this sorta thing.

As it is unportalised you need to run it through ShockEd. A non-portalised level is around 20% the size of a portalised one, as it lacks the "interpretation" of the architecture, light maps etc.

You might also want to email JediK about this, he has something which may be of help.

I know, but I don't want to use them, because they look dated and there are plenty of similar ones in Shock2, and if there isn't one similar enough, then I will use the respective Shock 1 texture.

    Security Level 9

I've just finished texturing Level 8 security. Everything seems so much bigger when using the Dark Engine...the level is HUGE!

    Project Video..........

Sometime today, I will upload a video of the Med Deck.It is only comparative screenshots at the moment (SS1 scene, SS2 scene SS1 scene, etc) but it gives a pretty good idea of what everything looks like. When I finish uploading it. I will come back and give you an address.

BTW, you will need DivX to view it...Get it here....
