so i says to the wolf...

Accidentally found the beginning to the Shaman uberquest the other day. Killed an iksar manslayer in a little cave and a "lesser spirit" popped up (it's a wolf spirit; must be about level 1). Talked to it for a bit, asked it who it was... ended up getting "a tiny gem." (didn't ID it). He told me to bring it to a place where humans pollute both the land and water - a place called a port.

Turns out there's a new barbarian in the sewers of freeport who will take the gem. He then gives you another gem and sends you to a friend of his (same zone, I believe), who then sends you on a few errands. Nobody's finished the errands, as far as I know (only know of one attempt, found a guy in Erud's Crossing, but then needed another gem that they didn't have).

Rumors have it that the Ranger quest may start in Surefall Glade... if you're in the area, feel free to check it out

There are new NPC's in Qeynos hills and S. Qeynos. I read this over at the safehouse and had to go check it out myself after I stopped laughing. They NPCs are called a_rude_individual and when hailed they say:

a rude individual makes a rude gesture at Keamas and says, 'Why are you talking to me? People who talk too much can sometimes find themselves without tongues!'

The funny thing is if you hail a NPC and they are in earshot they make a smart comment. A poster on the safehouse said this:

When a bard told me to go to the bards guild and listen to some music the a rude individual told him that if he ever had a original idea it was just beginners luck.

LOL, Verant does have a sense of humor :P

Lothar and I found an individual at the base of the ramp in EK that goes to HH. He told a very long story of Rallos Zek and a great Ogre warrior. It was so long that we stopped a ways in.

Also of note that there was an NPC named ! in EK near the signpost near the bridge. Yes, his name was !. He just stood there and did nothing as we did some fun emotes with him.

Yeah, rude invididuals... I've heard about them.

Usually, when NPCs get stuck somewhere, or can't properly respawn for some reason, they end up at 0,0 in the zone with a ! before their name and don't respond to anything. That's probably something similar.

Someone talking about Zek is probably there for the warrior quest (duh) (well, one of the 2 war quests). Wonder how many ogres will have the patience to hear the whole story. Hey, what did he con to you?

I don't remember conning him. Well, he didn't kill me.

And his name didn't start with a !. It WAS !.

Speaking of uber-quests, one of the servers had a nasty runing yesterday. Apparently, for the Enchanter quest, if you give an NPC a parchment and quill, a level 57+ named mob that looks like a standard bandit spawns in WK that kills *everything*, other mobs and players. What is it with Verant's desire to place ubermobs in lowbie zones? Seems there's a new named giant that takes a 55+ group to kill in EK, too.

I've been looking over some of the lists so far, and it looks interesting. Some of them will encourage fighting in underutilized dungeons. It seems that mages need to bring in the four elemental mastery staffs to get their weapon, which is rumored to combine all four. One seems to fall from the head boss of Kedge. A component seems to fall from Redi's friend in the Overthere, that General Rott-something-or-other - the level 55 NPC with the six level 45 skeletons near him. So obviously, they aren't making these things easy.

Supposedly, they gave a class quest to each person, who worked for at least one month planning it, and another implementing and testing it. They're gonna take a while to finish, it seems...

Gotta laugh at the Druids, though. On one of the druid boards, the big debate isn't how to do the quest, but whether it's the Druid or Ranger quests (half the NPC's are Rangers, it seems, and the others are Druids). Hee hee...

How 'bout this for the rogue epic quest? Best information obtained so far indicates that the first step involves turning in four high-end warrior swords, and the second step involves turning in four high-level caster robes, including the SMR. I am not looking forward to trying to get an SMR away from a caster who can use it.

Oh well, I have 10 more levels before I can even think about working on this. Apparently the epic quest NPC calls anyone under level 50 a "pup" because they are not high enough level to deal with.

All quest givers say to those level 49 or below that they're newbies, and that they think that they saw a Gnoll Pup just a minute ago that they think you can kill. At least the wizard guy says so.

As for the robes, the SMR should not be your primary concern. Oracle of course is easy to get. But the Ishva Robe is deep in Paw, which has severe pathing problems. And the Kedge Robe is a very rare drop, maybe 1 in 20 or more, and is no drop, and you'll have casters competing with you for it. Ishva and Kedge are a heck of a lot harder to get your hands on...

I suppose it would be all well and good if i did have to turn in all 4 of the "elemental mastery" staffs to get my weapon, other than a *slight* problem. only 2 exist, Cazic Thule drops Elemental Mastery:Earth and Phinigel Autroposs drops *duh* water.

Personally, I find it rather odd that Rogues need the robes.. it's really gonna stink because now the SMR is gonna go back up in price again.. drat. course I was nowhere near the amount i needed, but hey.

aw crap. finally did some more research on my uber quest and I AM BONED. Boned may be mildly putting it.

In South Karana is an EXCEEDINGLY rare spawn, a winged pegasus. this pegasus RARELY drops the Pegasus Cloak, a VERY desirable no drop item with infinite charges of levitate. I have seen offers of 300Kpp, Crimson Robe of Alendine, AND a Cloak of Flames offered for this item.... and of course, I need it to finish my Power of Air section. (Mages apparently have the longest quest, lucky me )

So far this is what I know.

    Quest of Magi`kot.
Talk to Rykas in Lake Rathetear, after some story, he gives you a coin to take to a fella in the West Commons by the name of Jahsohn Aksot.
Giving the coin to Jahsohn results in a lengthy story (no [ ]'s to follow though) where he tells you to go get the 3 parts of the words of Magi`kot.
1 is in Kithicor Woods at night, off of a "Dread Wolf"
1 is in Unrest off of a "Tentaclae Terror"
1 is in Lower Guk off of "Bloodthirsty Ghoul"

This is where I am, have the part from Unrest so far, but looking at the items and firepower I'll need later, I may just let it go for now. (like me killing Cazic.. )

Arc, I've been reading various boards, and apparently there's a new NPC in Skyfire that gives a quest for the Fire staff, and one in FV for the Earth one. Or at least those two components of the quests.

And like I said earlier - very rare NPC in Erudin, and he depops as soon as you give him the letter. I hear there's a Druid in GFay now that does the same thing. In other words, there's gonna be a lot more very very rare pops now. It's all Verant's plan to keep us playing all this time.

Ale or Loth, there has to be a trigger for him to spawn. We just need to find it. I have a theory that you have to talk to Solomen(?) in the Temple of Solusek Ro to get him to spawn. I didn't try any more than just getting the note, but I think we may be able to get him to tell us more. One of us needs to be in Erudin tho, to check to see if he spawns

    We can work it out.

No word on the Paladin quest yet. Some people view us as the 'questers' of Norrath so this is a surprise. Only leads so far are a Paladin in the Mage guild in Felwithe and a SK/Pally in Rathe mountains.

The Paladin in Felwithe is oddly in the mage guild and asks for the Prince of Chardok's head. Some people thought this would be for the mage quest since thats the staff with the sarnak skull on it. ::shrugs:: He was killed and his head returned.

"Vengeance has been fufilled! However, the King still has a heavy heart. Not until Firiona has been return can this sadness be lifted. But in appreciation of your efforts, I am honored to present to you the King's Chalice."

The chalice is a No_Drop enchanter item. Looks like a bum lead.

The other lead was the new SK/Paladin in Rathe mnts. The SK asks for the shield of the Pally, and the Pally asks for the two weapons from the SK. Bunch of shamans are saying this is their quest to compensate for the evil and good side of the class. They've been killed numerous times but won't accept the gifts from any paladins.

Looks like the warrior quests will be finished first

Unless these new quests change the population distribution between the zones, I think the SMR is going to be the harder robe to obtain. The SMR is currently camped 24/7. This might make it purchaseable, but I've already described my problems in raising platinum. I will never save enough platinum to buy this item.

In order to get it myself, I will need to join a group that has been there for days, get myself added to the loot list, wait 3 days (without logging off) to be at the top of the list, and finally wait a day for the correct spawn to appear with the loot. All the while, I would have to argue with every group member that rotated in that I should be included in the loot. OMG!

As for the Kedge robe, at least it is not camped (at least not now). That means that organizing a raid on Kedge could lead to getting it. At least with a raid, everyone would know that the goal was to get the Kedge robe for the rogue quest. There would not be constant arguing that I foresee with the SMR.

Just my 2cp (or was that your 2cp)

Torim, considering that I'm 15 levels away from starting the quest, let alone finishing it, finding the trigger to get that guy in Erudin to spawn isn't exactly at the top of my list of priorities. Besides, I'm sure it will be discovered by the time I'm ready to start the quest.

Geffin, true, but the SMR drops a lot more often than the Kedge Robe, which itself is further complicated by being no drop. The mob it drops off of is quite difficult, probably needing two full groups to take him down (I read a recent post about how people were taking him down with "only 7 people" since the level cap was increased). That plus it's a rarer drop, it seems.

I honestly don't think you'll have trouble getting on the list. After all, I always see 2-3 SMR's available for trade in EC, all of them usually on Warriors. The market is flooded with them - they're not worth the 8-9K people are asking for them now, as no one wants them. But people read "10K" on pricing sites, and thus are determined to sell them for at least 10K. I've seen the same guy trying to sell the same SMR in EC for ever a month now. He eventually worked his price down to 7K, but still no takers.

However, if you need an SMR, I'll camp the Magi for you when I hit level 40. My sleep pattern is, how shall we say, odd. I have no problem staying up for 40+ hours straight on Friday-Sunday, when I have no classes. I guess that of the four, the SMR is the easist to get IMHO for someone like me - just get on the list and wait. But I can see how it would be difficult for the average player.

Who can afford 7k?? Heh. Obviously that's nothing to some people, but like Geffin, (And I'm soo soo soo many levels lower then him) I too have money problems. I can never seem to raise enough money. I'm just now trying to save up 500 pp to be able to afford the quest gem I need for the burning rapier. It's going to take me awile

I believe there is a way for rogues to get around handing in all the items.

    Not 100% positive though.

Ok, I'm highly curious by that comment?

What exactly have you heard about that?
