    T1 FM - The Item Oct/02

This hungarian Mission seems to be very interesting but unfortunately it's crashing if you reload or if you want to look at the map.

BUT WE WANT TO PLAY IT!!!!!!!!!

(A translation of the objectives in german or english would also be very helpful)

Saving fix is on the way!

    Hello friends!

Now I'm making the new version of "The Item" (1.5) In this version you can save and you can load it! And I repair some small bugs in the level...
Some days later I Upload the version 1.5 onto Jason Tibbits' FTP site...and the objectives screen will be english.

    Have a good play!

That's terrific, Sam 2= Sam! I haven't had time to try your mission yet, so I'll wait for the new and improved version. Thank you very much for letting us know about it.

    ...

I installed Thief:The Dark Project onto my computer. I downloaded the patch 1.33 for Thief and I patched the game with it. I downloaded the DromEd for Thief 1 and I set it.

I did the operation on the mission, but it was not word. But I know, what is the problem. I made this mission in Thief Gold. So some times later I will install Thief Gold and I will do the operation there to. If God helps me, the mission go to the site at this weekend...

    It is a bit difficult...

I'm working on the saving-patched english version of The Item but the "rebuilding" is a bit difficult...But don't worry. I finish it before two weeks...

    The patch is done!!!

    Oh, thanks Builder!

Hey friends! I'm finished the ENG patch 1.5 for The Item!
Now the Objectives screen is English, but I cut the video file. Sorry. But you don't understand it, so I think it is not a big matter...

    Repaired bugs:

    - Now you can load your saved game.
    - If you look at the map, the Windows don't crash.
    - You can't throw the first key... (If you are an experienced taffer, you know, what I'm talking about...)

Have a good play for the latest version of The Item !!

    I'm waiting for your opinion!

Terrific! Thanks for going to the trouble of making an English version for us, Sam2 = Sam. I hope I'll have time to play it later tonight.

I've been playing it on serious. I've really been enjoying it, but I think I've missed the boat on some stuff. I haven't found the "magical item", I'm short on loot and I haven't found the way out yet, either. I have, at least, found the sword!

Any hints on where to look for the magical item would be appreciated. Hopefully, that will help out with my loot total, too.

I am only about 15 minutes into the mission, but I need some advice on rope arrows. I found the
    spoiler:
big room with the giant everything
but always wind up splat coming down from the shelf or table. Has anyone else had this problem? BTW
    spoiler:
there is about 1000 loot in this one giant room. 2nd shelf has 5 or 6 nuggets and the two gold urns on the shelf are loot too.
My memory basically sucks, but I do remember a lot of reloads in Constantine's Mansion too.

Where is this room, Sap'em? I didn't find it, where ever it is. Spoilers are fine for me.

    spoiler:
Look for a corridor filled with water towards the beggining of the mission, there is a skull on a plate at the end of it. I had to get a key to open the door to this area. 1/2 through the corridor there is whole in the wall (left side) mantle through it.
Hope that gets you in the right area. I am playing Serious too. Maybe too serious..

    Finally found it!
    spoiler:
It was so dark in that corner that I hadn't even seen the door! After searching the mission repeatedly, I finally got close enough to make it highlight! Thanks, Sap'em.

I figured out the rope arrows on my own after some experimentation, but I seem to have come full circle in the mission, but still don't have the magical item yet. Need some help on this one. I've been through
    spoiler:
the maze and found the little town and the opening into the big room
but feel like I have missed something obvious. Any hints appreciated. I didn't find any
    spoiler:
    invisible ladders tho..

I found everything but the sword. It must be part of that raised dais lever maneuver Sap 'em described. Trouble is I don't know where in the mission he's describing...Help!

Extraordinary mission btw some of the spookiest ambience (due mainly to well placed sound) that I can remember.

    Sap'em, did you
    spoiler:
notice the pedestal in the room at the end of the hallway that the haunt patrols? Did you find the silver key at the end of that funny, zigzaggy walkway over the flooded room? Once you have that, you need to go back to the room that was past the flooded hallway with the entrance way to the big furniture room, get back up onto of the platform in that room and go through the hole in the north wall.

I won't spoil it completely, but that should help. I haven't found the magical item yet, either, though, but I have just started the newest section. Maybe it's in there.

Spamlet - Just after the beginning of the mission, you jump into the water, swim down a corridor and come up in a big room. From that room, you need to go
    spoiler:
out the north exit and follow that hallway to a room with a raised dais in the center. There's a coffin on each side of the room. Go around into the dark behind the dais and look for a lever. It moves the coffin that was on your left as you entered the room. It's really hard to see, because it's dark, but there is a hole behind the spot where the coffin used to be. Just walk into it and turn left when you hit the end.
