Thread: Almalexia is a psycho

    Almalexia is a psycho

Yes. Or so it seems. I am not too impressed with her.
Now, is she planning to stop, or do I have to stop her?
What would happen if I went back to the ashstorm machine and turned it off before being instructed to do so?
Was there a way to NOT kill the missing Hand? I tried calming him, but it did not work. He still wouldn't talk to me.
And where am I supposed to 'find out more about Almalexia' for King Helseth?

I won't spoiler you too much, but suffice it to say that Tribunal's main quest is not open-ended at all.....you're given very little choice (well no choice really) in the path you follow. Just keep doing Almalexia's dirty work for her (I know, it's distasteful but it's the only way to finish the game) You're in for a surprise at the ending, I think
I have no idea what would happen if you went back and turned off the ashstorm machine....you could try it but I don't think it'll have any effect on the eventual outcome, which, like I said, is fixed no matter what you do. Almalexia won't send you to turn it off, as it happens...someone else (not you) has to stop the storms in the end.
Also, there's no way to avoid killing the missing Hand, unfortunately. As for Helseth's quests, that part confused me too....I kept running back to him with more info, only to be told to come back when I'd found out more. You just have to follow Alma's quests and when you've done them all and resolved everything with Her, go back to Helseth and talk to him. He won't actually have anything more for you to do, but talking with him sort of wraps everything up.
BTW, what did you think of Helseth? Foxy isn't he?
    Enjoy!

Helseth is rather handsome, although not quite scruffy enough for my taste. That beard is a bit too neatly trimmed.
As to Almalexia, I suppose I'll continue being her dog. Or bitch, more accurately. I might commit some gratuitous violence on her later.
Meanwhile, Russian was requested, so here goes:

I'm not quite up to the Almalexia quests just yet. So far I haven't had to do anything that is against my character's Morals. (i.e. Kill anyone that didn't attack me first. ) I even managed to swindle my way out of the 'Three Writs' quest, which was great!

And no, I don't think Helseth is foxy at all. Perhap's it's just me! :P

Yes. And most of the rest of the cast too. Bring 'em on, elf, orc and man! (though not hobbit or dwarf, I'm afraid)

    ORC?????
    *swallows nervously*

I really wish TTLG had live chat. It would be great fun, when we're all on at the same time, to have these conversations directly rather than posting replies all the time. It feels more like a proper conversation that way.

I think I'd rather have time to edit my posts before posting them- I have been known to change my mind about content. And I can't touch-type.
Now, the orc thing. All my friends thought I was sick. Except one, who was relieved- as was I- at not being the only one. We found others since.
The object of our unnatural desire was the uruk-hai in LotR 1- the one who slew Boromir.
I doubt I'll convert you, somehow. Which one was your favourite LotR man?

Oh, you mean Lurtz....well....OK I have to admit to having similar thoughts in passing I was disappointed when he was killed so brutally. The other orcs just don't have it I'm also relieved to know others are on my (bizarre) wavelength
Hey, on that subject, what d'you think of Darth Maul from Star Wars?

Darth Maul was a great villan... pity he was killed

Hmmm, I'm beginning to see why my Clean Shaven and Clean Cut look just doesn't have the appeal with the ladies. (Oh, and looking like a hitman doesn't help.)

Yippee! 'similar thoughts in passing', was it?
He is so graceful. Large, masculine, scary AND graceful with it. Let me at him!

Darth Maul- not bad, not bad. But not in Lurtz-league.

I thought I was weird and was starting to worry. Now I KNOW I'm weird, but I'm not the only weird one. Perhaps we should form a support group or something

*sigh* I like the snarling as well. Legolas is cute too but there's so many drooling fangirls clustering around him....it's nice to have a more "exclusive" crush as well

Darth Maul- not bad, not bad. But not in Lurtz-league.
Best Star Wars villain ever...more growling.....love those horns and the wicked striped skin too. And those cool moves. Damn Obi-Wan anyway-weedy little Jedi runt

Striker...clearly all you have to do is have scary yellow eyes, war-painted skin, a kick-ass weapon and a line in ferocious snarls, and you'll go down a treat around here

I just can't compete. I'm probably large and masculine enough (being 6'1 and 95kg), but I just don't have the scaryness. (I guess I'm just too nice to do the whole snarling thing. :\ )

I do have one picture of me, although that's scary in a completley different way...

LOL! There is a small one here around Aberystwyth. There are four of us in it, I think. Do join us.
I like the snarling too. I don't mind if people think I'm weird, or sick.
I do like Legolas, too, but he's a bit pretty-boy for me. The teenagers can keep him. I preferred Haldir (?) the chief elf who comes to help at Helm's Deep.

You DO look like a hitman! It's the shirt and tie, I think. I always think Australians wear t shirts and sunglasses. That would be because of Neighbours, I suspect.
One of these days, I'll post a picture of me in the ttlg gallery for everyone's edification and amusement.

Now I didn't like him at all, I'm afraid. Frankly, I thought he was too ugly to be an elf. Eomer was OK though!! I suspect he'd suit your tastes as well, with that long wild hair and scruffy type beard.......*stops to think* Please, tell me you don't find Gandalf attractive!
We really got off topic here, didn't we? My fault I'm afraid, for starting it with the Helseth comments. Good thing we have nice tolerant moderators.
Nice pic, BTW Striker And yes, you do look a bit like a contract killer. Somehow I'd though you'd look younger than that actually.... Probably just me though, as I'm 24 but most people think I'm about 18. (please note I'm not saying you look old in any absolute sense!)

Ania: Well, if it makes you feel better, I usually do wear t-shirts and sun glasses (and pants on occation ), except for at work (or when I'm getting passport photo's taken). Oh and except for winter, when it's usually jumpers (It doesn't get as cold as England that's for durn sure!).

One time when I was wearing my suit and sun glasses, someone in the shop I get lunch for pretty much yelled out "It's the FBI!" when I walked in.

Oh, need I mention that I hate Neighbours...

Jordana: How old do I look? (Just out of curiosity ).

And I don't mind if some thread become 'chat' like or go off topic. It's the flaming/trolling or constant posting of one line replies that I won't put up with.

Eomer was most definitely ok. Oh yes.
Gandalf is lovely, but a bit too old even for me! Besides, Ian McKellen is gay, and I cannot fancy men who would NEVER be able to fancy me back, even in theory.
Oh, and consider yourself signed up to what we termed the Blue Orc Appreciation Society (he's bathed in blue light when he talks to Saruman, and so became known as the blue orc)

    Striker:

It's fashionable to mock Neighbours, but if only you could see the dreadful British soaps! My own pet hate is East Enders: a load of horrible, nasty, backstabbing miserable, people, leading ditto lives- there's not one sympathetic character in the whole programme. They are so vile I don't know why anyone would watch it. The whole lot of them ought to have been drowned at birth. Unfortunately, lots of people are into it and I sometimes accidentally get exposed to the horror when I go visiting.
By comparison, the characters in Neighbours are at least reasonably nice, happy people. Or they were, last time I watched it, about 3-4 years ago.

Striker: Hmm, you look about 26-ish I'd say......is that a passport photo? 'Cause everyone looks pale and scary on passport photos. It's just one of those things
And what, do you mean to say that Neighbours isn't a fully authentic, absolutely accurate portrayal of modern Australian suburban life? *clutches head in horror*

Ania: You're right about Eastenders. It just loves wallowing in misery and cynicism, especially during the Christmas period.

And, hey!! Something that'll make you laugh....I was sitting in the canteen today at work with my mug of soup, reading the newspaper like I always do. Flicking through the Guardian's various supplements, I reached the 'Online' section and came across an article on female gamers, relating specifically to the number of women who play fantasy role-playing games. The headline:

"Role-playing fits the bill-Aleks Krotoski ventures into the world of online role playing to discover what women find so attractive about orcs."

    I kid you not

Ania: I guess I should clarify a bit. I hate all soaps!!! I'm pretty sure we do/did get East Enders here, though I never watched it.

Jordy: That is a Passport photo. I showed it to my friends, and they commented that it looked like me, but it didn't look like me. Figure that out.

It could be worse... it could be my licence photo. There's nothing bad about it per se... it's just that it's getting close to being 5 years old. Boy was I a skinny sonofabitch back then, with 'fluffy' hair.

Oh, Neighbours is 100% completely accurate. The amount of times I've been going out with someone, then they start making out with my best friend who also has a girlfriend is amazing. (p.s. The number of times that's happened is 0! )

Man, that article just cracked me up when I read the heading! Did they find out what chicks dig about Orcs?

Jordana- I read the Guardian too! Do you try to do the cryptic crossword? I do, and fail, mostly, although I did actually finish it a few times and felt very pleased with myself.
I fair raced to my copy of the Guardian to see for myself! (I spent today playing Morrowind, so have not got round to looking at the paper). The article is about women and MMRPGs and can be found here . Not a lot about orcs, the title is good, though. It made me laugh, after I rubbed my eyes in disbelief! I think it's synchronicity.
Striker- I'm with you on the tv soaps. But Neighbours is far less miserable than the British offerings. Especially Rear Enders. And I am rather fond of The Archers, a brit radio soap about life in the English countryside, and about as accurate as Neighbours.

I love crosswords, and have reasonable success with cryptic ones-although as I only get half an hour for lunch I don't have time to do the Guardian one by the time I've finished queuing for my sarnie
Glad you both liked the article anyway. Amazing coincidence Maybe the guy who wrote it was lurking at these boards for inspiration or something
So how old are you, Striker? I thought you were about a year younger than me...is that right? And BTW, does anyone know how old Forsythe is? He's hinted that he's older than most of the other regulars here, but I didn't like to ask directly.......
