    Uh, oh, downloading now!

I remember Digital Nightfall's post where he mentioned that the mission would be released very soon, I just had no idea it would be THAT soon.

I'm very excited, obviously a long, long waited project's first mission is now available to the public. And a team of famous designers worked on it, so I'm very curious to see what the mission looks like. Just look at it... a concept by a walking legend Tomi Holming, voice by Loanstar, betatested by Purah and other gods... *Yummy*

Well, I would but I haven't had much luck getting onto the forums lately.

Hoo boy, downloaded 114 MB in 13 minutes 10 seconds, thanks to DSL and epithumia AKA Mr. Bandwidth.

I just finished a run-through of the mission. Aside from a few nitpicks and nags, great stuff! The briefing had me hooked. Very atmospheric, very true to the Thief style, very great art, and so forth. I must admit, I was giggling with giddy by the time that the mission loaded.

This is another one that ranks among the few that I have been motivated enough to finish. There were some ups and downs, some iffy moments, and more than a few places where the AI placement was much less than perfect, but I honestly can not wait for the rest of the missions to be released.

    Good job, eh!

I noticed something in the storyline. It reminds me of the original Thief 1 story. The mission is undoubtfully a masterpiece, I do not intend to question that. However I was thinking if the similarity is not too close. That concerns similarity of characters:

    Nightfall - Constantine
    Sheen - Victoria
    sceptres - Bafford sceptre

Also the movies were partly a modification of the original Thief. Especially the closing movie: an improved version of Constantine Thief 1 movie. Or when the sceptres were presented: an improved version of Bafford's.

What do you think? Did you have similar impressions?

    Stop Lady Varrillis businesS

I´ve got the chisel from her room, but cannot find any ice statues or destroy the chisel or....

    Just one word: w-o-w!
I was hooked from the beginning - beautiful eye-candy, high level of detail and the best of all, very sneaky gameplay, ghost-friendly (finished the bonus objective). If you liked the original Gathering at the Bar then you'll love this one...

Dunno about Nightfall - Constantine but I'll sure be wiser after downloading the movies.

    Now, to questions:
I did finish the mission but I still haven't found use for the hanky. I've "converted" it into a "Smelly Hanky" but still, I don't know how to use it. I thought I was supposed to put it into Lord Pearsall's wine but that doesn't seem to be the case? The other object I couldn't find a use for is the free drink coupon. Am I supposed to give it to the barman or what?
And the matter of secrets - I found 2 out of 3 - the ring and the secret passage between two bedrooms. Where's the last one?

UliB: This is a very tricky one, I only found it by using everything on everything.
    Hint 1: the blacksmith
    Hint 2: the firewand
Hint 1+2: give the firewand to the blacksmith

    smelly hanky:
    spoiler:
smelly hanky you use it on persall instead of poisoning his drink, just walk by him and he faints.

    free drink coupon:
    spoiler:
go past the front doors into a small alleyway with a guy standing by a fire, he says can ya spare some change, give him the coupon.

    last secret :
    spoiler:
is in the building with 2 openable crates in bottom and on wall is a broken ladder way up, stack crates to get to ladder then climb ladder and you'll find the last secret crate.

as for me i cant seem to find the last secret which must be the last 53 loot in it, possible the ring.

Have you read the book in the attic where the guy writes his plans to kill his wife? Read it carefully once again ...
The ring is near the zombie corpse in the sewers and it's very tiny.

Ok I give up, where is this bell that i'm supposed to ring? Been wandering around the city for hours searching for it. I am finished with all the other objectives, except for the optional dont kill anyone. I admit i cracked that poor guy's bandaged head open, just couldn't resist! Put him out of his misery, i say. A refreshing change from my job in real life.

I loved it. Everything in it looks great and they have put in a lott of humor.
The conversation from the bar-owner to his servant i found really hilarious.

The end scene from the debriefing movie has given me a great feeling. "welcome to the circle" hehe

The new use of the map was really great and helpfull. Yes i played it on All Hints.

    Spiderkat,
    spoiler:
the bell is in the place where it is marked on the map. It's a small doorbell hanging in front of the door.

I have looked for it as well. I was looking for a hugh bell you could ring, instead it was a small ringie thing
