Look at you, Hacker.

We all know this (or at least should)
"Look at you, Hacker. A pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?"

I am wondering how it is in other languages...
Some hint about pronuncing it would be good too.

Estonian:
"Vaata end, häkker. Haletsusväärne olevus, lihast ja luust, joostes hingeldava ja higisena mööda mu koridore. Kuidas saad sa vôistelda perfektse, surematu masinaga?"
Pronunciation: Nothing special: letter by letter

(Thread that made me curious - and where this thread didn't fit)

hmm... anyone know what it would sound like in Latin? That would be intresting.

Glory to the pipe, for it is the holy symbol of perfection in its lead simplicity! ...until you find a Sparq 10 minutes later.

You know, you can buy a t-shirt from the TTLG store with SHODAN's words in GBMlish

And this t-shirt is definitely on my 'to buy' list

P.S.- Oh, and I'm not going to translate SHODAN's speech into portuguese... it would sound ridiculous...

Transcript from the German version:

'Schau dich dann, Hacker, eine erbaermliche Kreatur aus Fleisch und Knochen, die keuchend und schwitzend durch meine Korridore rennt. Wie koenntest du eine perfekte und unsterbliche Maschine herausfordern?'

Which roughly translates as...er...never mind.

In spanish, translated by yours truly:
"Mírate, hacker. Una patética criatura de carne y hueso, jadeando y sudando mientras corres por mis pasillos. ¿Como puedes retar a una máquina perfecta e inmortal?"

Umm aren't adjectives supposed to come after nouns in spanish? But what do I know?

"Look at you, Hacker. A pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?"

in french ends up like..

"Regardes toi, Hacker. Une pathétique créature de viande et d'os, halètant et suant pendant que tu cours à travers mes corridors. Comment peux tu defier une parfaite, éternelle machine?"

hacker has no real french word for it, maybe "Hackeur" but it just looks goofy.

my version would be:

"Regardes-toi, hacker, pathétique créature de chair et d'os, pantelante et suante, courant dans mes corridors... Comment peux-tu défier une machine, immortelle et parfaite?"

But I slightly adapted it. The 'corridors' bit is tricky, it doesn't sound really good... "hacker" could be translated as "pirate informatique" or just "pirate", but it doesn't sound good either.
Tripwood: technically, "viande" is correct, but it's the meat you eat, not the meat you're made of. Otherwise, everything's good.

Ok, in Italian That would be:

"Guarda the stesso Hacker. Una patetica creatura di carne e ossa, che sbuffa e suda correndo tra i miei corridoi. Come puoi pensare di sfidare una macchina perfetta ed immortale?"

In my translation project I prefer to use the word "Hacker" instead of "Pirata Informativo", that sound sooo ridicolous. Btw I think that it's meaning is quite clear nowadays........

Salutations,

Aw, now you've made me do the whole sequence in Slovenian... shame on you!

"Poglej se, vdiralec... pomilovanja vredno bitje iz mesa in kosti, ki sopihaš in se potiš po mojih hodnikih. Kako lahko izzivaš popoln, nesmrten stoj?"

Although Uncia will probably object to my usage of a substitute word for "heker"

Well, since I teach Latin, let's give it a try:

"Te ipsum adspice, pirata informatice! O contempta creatura e carne ossibusque qui anhelas et desudas dum per vias meas curris. Qui fit ut perfectam et immortalem machinam provocare audeas?

Not sure Cicero would approve it, anyway.
And now, who will be doing the voice acting?

Yea well in Finish. It was god damn funny to read it in Estonian becose Estonia sounds like Finish. Even tho some words we have in common mean diffrent thinks. now word by word:

Katso itseässä, hackkeri. Surkea olento lihaa ja luuta, henkästyneenä ja hikisenä juoksemassa läpi käytävieni . Miten voit kuvitella voivasi haastaa täydellisen, kuolemattoman koneen?

Okay, since everyone's doing it, I'll put it in portuguese:

'Olha para ti Hacker. Uma criatura patética de carne e osso, a arfar e a suar enquanto corres pelos meus corredores. Como podes desafiar uma máquina perfeita e imortal?'

(as in some other languages shown in this thread, there is no portuguese translation for 'Hacker').
