    T2 FM: Rowena's Curse (6/6/2003 - V3 released 23/2/2008)

Finally, after more than an year, I finished my FM Rowena's Curse!

    You can download it here:

    http://thiefmissions.com/m/RowenasCurse

I have to thank a lot of people:

First of all, my betatesters: Doaal, Silent_Warrior, Caradavin, Preno and theBlackman.

Doaal, Lord Alan and Thorin Oakenshield who personally helped me with great patience.

theBlackman and Doaal who corrected my books.

Also thanks to Purah who allowed me to use two of the beautiful textures from Calendra's Legacy.

Thanks to all the wonderful people at the TTLG Forums. It will never be enough, without their help I would never have been able to build this mission.

Special thanks to Hit Deity who helped me every time I was in trouble.

Additional thanks to Doaal for his assistance and encouragement.

    I hope you like it!

Thanks Lady R...downloading now and I know this is going to be a difficult mission as theBlackman has given me a headsup regarding the gameplay but has promised to help me along So I'll be checking it out in the near future and from what he says about it...a mission not to be missed...it sounds very interesting! Ta and Good Hunting!
It's not how you win, it's how you play the game! HAVE FUN!

There is ample equipment to get by in the mission. At the start you are limited due to an accident at entry.

The mission is heavy with guards, but they can be circumvented and or removed.

This mission requires slow, careful study of each move you make. As I have said in earlier posts that you may have missed this is a tough mission.

That's the one goal that messed me up, too...it's under her pillow in the white bedroom.

    Terrific mission...an instant classic.

This FM is fantastic, very challenging, good suspense and good story! I had a lot of fun beta-testing it. I found it was quite similar to my own FM, Lady Rowena has a very similar style to mine which made me enjoy it even more What are you waiting for? Download it now

Well how are you doing. It is now 11:27 am. so that's about 8 plus hours. Have you "Winned" it yet?

    General Comment

I think you players are too eager with the spoilers. Nothing personal. But to have spoilers pop up after the game is 3 hours old is a bit much.

If, as is sometimes said, "I have been trying for 4 hours to find XYZ Help!" then a spoiler might be reasonable. But a general "Where is ???" just out of the blue should result in a Hint and not a exact location or direction.

    Just my personal thoughts.

This mission has so much for the player to accomplish, and so much to see, that many of the objectives can be accomplished before you get to the sticking point and have to say HELP ME I'M FALLING.

You can do it. We're professional Thief players. Remember?

This is a great mission. It has a really brilliant use of textures. Though I am starting a KO guard collection. :P

I personally think tile is what makes it challenging. I knocked out every single guard in the mission, even on expert and I barely used any equipment. I like to play conservative style :P Even so, I still think there is enough equipment to get by, you don't start with much but there is lots more to find.

I knocked out over half the guards with my Blackjack and the rest i slaughtered with my Sword.

A excellent mission, good suspense and plot, well throught out secret tunnels and areas.

    spoiler:
I am having trouble getting into the area with a gate in the way and can't seem to find a key to open it? This area when you look out into it has guards and 3 statues. At first i thought i had to climb there but obviously i can't cause the mission prevents that. I can't get into the library either or that dor in the tunnels. I read the diary no clues there either. Playing on normal. How far has everybody else got? I still have the chapel key does this mean i missed a door somewhere?

To all players. In this mission it is vital you read all the scrolls, books, and posted notes you find.

All of the pages in a journal or diary must be read. Information, and the tools you need, is provided throughout the mission.

Many of the clues must be discovered by YOUR EYES, and your reasoning power.

Unlike many of the FM's all the "secrets" (meaning hidden clues) will NOT highlight because you look at them. You must be aware of your surroundings constantly.

You may be standing right in front of or next to a wall or object that is a barrier to your passage, and the magic "Secret" switch will not be there. The access will be right in front of your eyes, but you will need some logical, rational thinking to "Open" the door to where you need to go.

It is essential that you USE YOUR EYES, and YOUR MENTAL PROCESSES.

... and some patience too, some areas are accessable later on.

    spoiler:
I think you will get to the well room later, it must be behind those metal doors and Rowena is down the well. My question is how do i find the keys to those doors in the hidden tunnels, there are 3 doors but i think there must be a 4 doors and behind each one are the talismans needed to unlock the holy sword. And yes i have read the scrolls - a question are all the clues that i need in the scrolls that i am allowed to keep in my inventory or do i have to go back and re-read the scrolls i couldn't take with me

By the way this talk of wells and people dying at the bottom of it and that picture of a dark haired Rowena seems similar to the story in The Ring.
