We're working very hard to correct that.

Could I just re-install or download the game and see if it works the second time, or will I always get that error from hell. Or am I just extremely confused and stupid and that's supposed to happen. I did everything possible to make sure it wouldn't happen, but it's happened like 15 times.

It's supposed to happen, dude. It's the end of the episode.

Okay, so that's the end of the episode. I didn't do anything except go into the basement and the episode is over. And no I can't progress any farther. This game sucks if that's the case.

Go back and do some other things then. Such as playing through the Danger Rooms.

You're kidding me, right. This game is getting on my nerves so much. All the Matrix refrences, the stupid voiceovers that are only working some of the time, and that fuckign danger room. Wow, time to play some REAL Deus Ex.

You wait patiently. Its an episodic mod, see. That was the introductory episode, like what it said in the readme.

You know like how after you watched the first episode of say, 24, you didnt go around telling everyone that 24 was shit cos all that happened was some guy went into work and his daughter went to a party. The same thing applies here.

yeah my copy is up 2 date

i dont think it really is your problem, unless the installer on one of ur mirrors is dodgy. it just gives me those windows error messages i mentioned above

Hello. I've rudely decided to come back to the forum after eons of not saying anything to ask fairly stupid but necessary questions, which are:

I have 56K modem. I only just managed to download the 24MB of Cassandra before the 2 hour limit cut out. So was the Deus Ex 1.112 patch ever on the PCG discs? I know the 1.1 was, because that's the one i have, but i get the same problem as taff with that patch. If 1.12 ever was, which no.?

Failing that... with what can i download 35mb of data using at 56K modem? I tried to find it on kazaa but no one was sufficiently generous to put it in their shared directory.
    Thank you!

Ach, it's alright. We know that a lot of people have put the original game to the back of the stack by now and we're just grateful that so many have been that interested to go out of their way to accomodate us.

If it's any consolation to anyone, Episode 2 is well under way so if you do manage to get it working this time keep the downloads handy.

We don't intend on letting anyone down for another installment.

It is going to be a silly question but... Does The Cassandra Project works with the non-English versions of Deus Ex? It seems like it isn't the case, or I am going something wrong. What I did was:

    - Install Deus Ex (already patched) in a separate directory
    - Install TCP here
    - Launch cassandra.exe, and then choose a driver as usual
    - The prorer screens shows on.
    - Everything is fine until then. It is the "regular" Deus Ex maps which are used by the game, not the Cassandra's one. Am I missing something really obvious here? Or it is because I don't have the English version of Deus Ex?

I read what you wrote Watcher, and I don't have any kind of error dialog. Is that normal? (It should be normal under other circumstances, but it seems like you should actually have an error dialog)

    Thanks in advance!

The last time someone mentioned a problem like that, they had installed the original game to a custom directory (i.e. NOT c:\Deusex)

    Might that be the case?

Yes, I forgot to mention this part. I didn't install the game in the original directory, as I could not. (C:\ has only a few hundred mo available, this partition is only made for having Windows.) I will have to try after changing the letters. Thanks for your answer!

Not sure what causes it, or whether the drive letter would make any difference. I'll ask the guy when I see him next.

Mornings, greetings and avowals of revenge where appropriate,

Aha. I'm having a similar problem as the fellow just before me. Er...someone. Anyway, that problem is that while this thar episode installs just fine, it dinnae run. Dinnae crash either - instead I get the original menus, maps, and so forth. Ah. Bugger. Why, I don't know. But you should, and should now tell me how to fix this. That's what I pay you for.

I complicate matters excitingly by mentioning that I'm running DX on neither Windows nor mac, but instead Gentoo Linux, emulated via the actually somewhat morally-doubtful Transgaming Winex3.

I suspect the problem in some way involves how I also did not install it to C:\ but instead to my fictional H:\ drive. How very rum. I shall investigate this rumness by sending forth St. Bernards of Balming Inquisition.

    Until then,
    I like your socks.

I just installed the game in C:\DeusEx, but it still doesn't work. (For the very same problem as levez) It wasn't a full instalation though. (I didn't install the original maps and speech) Maybe it could explain the problem? Otherwise, I fear that either:

    - a) I am unable to use computers
    - b) TCP won't work with non-English versions of Deus Ex
    - c) Both

I tried another mod (Zodiac actually), and the same thing happens. I was wondering, maybe the exes are different, which could cause the problem? Mine has a size of 248 ko. But I fear your exe is "normal" levez, so my theory would prove to be wrong then.

This is probably a very silly question but you are accessing the custom icons aren't you? The Deus Ex exe has been repoduced for both mods but in a different directory.

Nomj on State had some trouble but fixed it with a full install. I'm only throwing out suggestions here, I'm not nearly clever enough to know what's ACTUALLY going on.

Some time next week I'll try and figure out some instructions on installing TCP without the installer. You need to have the custom .u files in 'system' and edit your .ini file pretty heavily. I'll figure something out.

Phobia: I am indeed running Cassandra.exe
My case is perhaps a little different however, as I am not running Windows, or on a Mac. I'm not really expecting it to work, though that would be good

I get the Cassandra-specific splash screen, but the rest is all the same.
