As the title says. We've been pimped in all manner of places. I'm intrigued in which ones which actually lead to people of good enough heart to post in the forum.

Here. Or possibly DXM, I can't remember which first
In one of those Packed Lunches PCG used to do ages ago, iirc. Which would make it pretty much since the first announcement, I suppose.
Either in a Packed Lunch, or on the old PCG Delphi Forum.Originally posted by Brem_X_Jones

Bloody good question... my first post is from back in March 2001* (my badly formatted mutterings on game backgrounds), and my memory is going to stain to remember the chain of events that unleashed my peculiar brand of ultracynical anarchistic pessimism on this forum. I'll blame it on the fnords for the moment, if I do remember then it may not have been them. Unless it was.
* yes, I know my registration date is in 2002, so how could I be posting in 2001? You people have never heard of time travel, or broken logins?
I found out about the release, as well as the mod itself a while back, from PlanetDeusEx.
i found out about the release from a thread in the rpg discussion on the pc gamer forum
Blues News, Saturday, I think. I was fishing for news to post, and immediately leapt on this on (lepton?).
A quote from Kieron on how much of a shambles Cassandra was at that point, featured in a UK gaming mag.
One day, this link infiltrated the main menu of the website
I think we probably still have James Webb to thank for inviting Cassandra aboard. I had just started out as a newsie and he asked me to handle finding a good place for the Cassandra project link. Yipee.
My interest was first won when I saw that message on the first Cassandra website. I think it was linked from Planet Deus Ex. Of course, the name Kieron Gillen was a factor since I have been a subscriber to PC Gamer since about issue 50.
I've had a favourite in IE for the Cassandra Project site for over a year now which I check occaisionally, but I found out about the release from PlanetDeusEx which I check on a regular basis for Invisible War news.
looking through the forum list and i saw TCP forum and underneath was the PC gamer thing so i had to look.
I heard about it on Slashdot. :-) I didn't even know people were working on cool single-player DX mods (though I've downloaded lots of Thief mods).
Found a link quite a while ago back on Planet Deus Ex or something, then just forgot about it, due to the lack of support for the Deus Ex mod scene. But my interest didn't really pique till a couple of weeks ago, when I read about the Cassandra Project in the Edge mag feature relating to game mods.

I read the occasional words on Cassandra originally in PC Gamer UK, long before I bought Deus Ex. Then I realised the project was a reality upon coming to the TTLG forums.
here, dxm, and allsorted mumblings in pcguk.
The Cassandra Project was mentioned in one of the last issues of the Slovene PC Format as one of few Deus Ex mods. With a bit of help from Google I could easily find the website and that was it.
Blimey. What did they say?
(Actually - it may just be a translation of the PC FORMAT UK article. I remember Alec saying something about namechecking Cassandra in a box-out somewhere.)

It was only mentioned by the way. There was this series of "how to properly make a mod" articles and one of them included a snapshot with James on it and below it was written something along the lines of "The Cassandra Project, one of the few mods for Deus Ex".
I first heard about TCP was the PCG bit where Keiron was complaining about the faults in ConEdit/Deus Ed. How many hours wasted 'cause of one tiny bug?
Man, what a waste of a week's holiday *that* was.

I read in an issue of pcgamer from an article by gillen
I just read the name in passing at PlanetDeusEx.com.
Theres something about the name 'The Cassandra Project' that was intriguing enough to make you hunt around for the site.
