    Best graduation times

Lets see who can notch up a cracking time in the FM 'Graduation Day' by Jabberwocky.

No one has posted a time under twelve mins yet, I'm sure it can be done under ten ... maybe. Have fun

2 min and 49 sec on Dr. difficulty level

However I took four damage from a short fall.

Also, I was a beta tester so I've had a good deal of practice already.

I'd be interested to see how long it takes most people. When I'm playing it normally, I average around 8 minutes.

    Graduation Day

Get real!! How can you possibly get past the 3 guards and a pagen and out of this room? Without lock picks or a key or weapons?

You need to steal the speed potion from the pagan to complete this test - then the left hand gate will open. The locked metal door is "staff only" so you don't need to get in there.

kfort is kicking ass, I can't believe anyone can't get close!

BTW this is really a 'bump' type response

I made it in 7:25 my first time through on Plebe. Definitely the 4th test is the most time-consuming - now that I know how, I can probably do it abit faster. I'll try Dr. tomorrow.

I thought the last one was too easy (assuming you found the goodies).

But all in all, a very creative and fun mission, Jabberwocky! Way to go!

I just graduated in 2:24 on Dr difficulty on my 1.5th (ran through half of the mission first on Grad) attempt.
Btw great FM, Jabberwocky! I enjoyed it very much.

[Edit]Without the speed potion but with some damage on test 4.

I made it to "Stealth & Creeping" and while I am standing in the middle of the room crouching, the thieves can't find me but they keep bumping into me. :P

    Shadow -
    spoiler:
If anyone is curious - inside of the "staff only" room (the room where the thieves go when you finish the third test), there is a note and a key. The room itself is a simple cube with metal wall textures. The note basically tells you to forget about this room and get out. The key is for the door, in case it closed behind you. Nothing too exciting - just a barely accessable blueroom. I wouldn't suggest you try to get into it, unless you enjoy dying, but it isn't impossible. Just FYI

Next time I have a few spare minutes, I'll have to open this mission up again and see if I can beat Preno's time - can't have anyone stealing my title now can I?

not sure which test this is, but after the sneaking one.
i am having problems jumping down to get the sword. I can get to the steam pipe, but that is about it.
    any ideas?

    As I recall:
    spoiler:
There is a wedge shaped platform right next to the cannonball horking thinga-ma-bob. There is a rope dangling there. You need to get on that platform, as close to the top as you can get, and time your jump so you can grab the rope when it is blown in your direction. Then you just climb up and grab the sword. Be warned that if you save while you're on the rope, you will fall when you reload.

I didn't know about the "Saving on Ropes" thing! I've never saved whilst on a rope. What other secrets in Thief will we learn of next?

I doesn't always happen. Most of the time when I save on a rope and reload I just bob around a little. It might have something to do with the length of the rope. Anyway, every time I tried it in this FM I took a tumble.

probably has something to do with the rope getting knocked around?
I'll have to remember this for my next rope trick
