    hi Rattkin,

I have just seen a few high-res texture mods for Doom / Quake so thought that there might be one for System Shock 2 sometime. Okay, I'm downloading it now (1.5mb) but going from your screenshots it looks like you have put a lot of work into it.

    EDIT.

even if shodan says it's ok?

no kidding, textures are all redrawn.

anyway, it's no use to just resize them, right?

btw looking for some installer to simplify the unstalation. any hits anyone?

Ohhhh no they aren't. It's pretty obvious most of them have been scaled up and then had higher-res detail drawn on top of them.

However, the textures that are mostly-new look good. The crate texture looks especially nice.

I'm not sure which textures you have improved, but it is good to have clear & readable writing on the monitors, signs etc, and having non-blurry pipes etc. It makes everything even more plausible.

At first they were a bit confusing (thought there was something wrong with the links.), but now that i've seen them, I like them. Good work.

Turn that back-slash into a forward-slash for all the links.

Also, the half the tumbnails are linked to the wrong image. They all link to the second instance (the before shot).

Yes, but you have to scroll down to see the difference, it's a bit confusing.

Maybe you should rescale them a bit and put them side by side? (Make sure it looks okay for 800x600 users. )

Download now in progress. Hop they look as good in-game as they do in the screenshots!

Simply insert the obj folder into my SS2 directory, correct?

It doesnt seem to be working, when I load my game... all the old textures are missing, perhaps I gotta start a new game?

Your SS2 install has to be mod-prepped for this to work. You know, move CRFs to Res folder, update install.cfg to reflect new CRF location. The usual routine.

Could not download the mod (bad host - download brokes all the time), but saw that it contained the needed directory structure ... therefore it should work with ss2mm "as-is" without problems. Just rename the .zip to .ss2mod.

The SS2 Mod Manager demands a custom 6-character file extension for an otherwise common file format? Jesus H. Christ on a pogo stick.

Yeah. Got the slashes round the wrong way.

Half the links were still going to the wrong images though. They were/are all pointing to the after shots I think (haven't checked since).

For the love of all that is holy can someone mirror that texture mod please?
That Russian server or wherever it is cannot keep a connection going for more than a few seconds.
