Episode 4: Oracle of the Prophets

I have just release Oracle of the Prophets which is Episode 4 of A Keeper of the Prophecies

Oracle of the Prophets -- about 41Mb.

I highly advise reading through the playing notes. There are some quirks that may be better understood as a result.

Many thanks to the contributers and my long-suffering beta testing team. This mission would not have been as polished and (hopefully) bug-free without their hours spent wading into the corners of this world.

Until January 1st I'd like to limit hosting to just a few selected sites so I could issue an update (if needed) without having some old file floating around. After January 1st, I would greatly appreciate anyone hosting who wishes to do so.

    Enjoy!

Sounds like a bad download. The zip file should be exactly 42,853,621 bytes. In Windows, right click on the file and select "properties" -- if you see a file size anything different, then you'll need to download again.

frobber.....you were right. My first download only yielded an 8 Mb file for some reason. I got it on the second attempt. Looking forward to playing it...thanks for the tip.

Downloading now . For anyone interested, I'll be serving it up at #Thief-FMs in 20MB increments once it's done transferring.

    Oh boy oh boy,

EDIT: Ok, for anyone who would actually use Thief-FMs, you can pop into the channel and simply use this trigger to initiate a download: /ctcp DecayChild XDCC GET Frobber #1 .. That should make it easier!

I must be blind or completely oblivious to something.

    spoiler:
I've circled and navigated my way up and down this big old rock for about 2 hours real time. I've found a note and some fire arrows up at the top by the lava pool, but I can't find anything else except sudden death from either falling off or alerting the Protector guys or the stone beasts. I got the clue in the letter about transport orbs, but I don't see anything orb-y. Either Garrett or I are going to suffer cranial trauma soon from banging our heads against things! Bad luck or am I blind or something?

    spoiler:
But you must have noticed something interesting on the way down when falling -- and looking down from above, they might be seen as described in the scroll. Remember, in this world Garrett can do somethings he could never do before....

    Yup...I'm blind.
    spoiler:
Never saw anything but blackness and then AAaaRRgh.... Must have always been looking the wrong way, LOL. Thanks! Back in I go.

    By the builder!
It's the maw of chaos all over again!

Lots of paint to complete this one... Horrible pain...
So many tunnels.. so many orbs o' doom.
    SS2 AI eh?
    hehehe.
Interesting stuff, the low gravity is ze enemy of Garrett.
I fell off about 10'000 times off slippery ground to my fiery doom.

The "shade/color changing" sky scares me...

Holy Cow! Very interesting so far. First time I saw one of the new critters I was a bit... dismayed. Very, very cool.

OK. I've worked out how to get off this asteroid/rock and then see what's on the other side of the heart of fire. How far has everyone else got?

    Well...

I'm bloody stuck! I had jumped onto a rock in the lava and saved the mission. It appears that i can't get backwards or forwards from this damn rock! I'm stranded! If i can't get off it, it means that i'm going to have to replay the mission all over again!

Hint: Don't Quick-Save on an island!

This mission is cool. It's really different and that's what i like about stuff like this.

Frobber, you have done some great work on the caves. Must have took you ages carving that lot out and designing them! and how the heck do you manage to Dromed whilst moving around like you do? I need peace and quiet to consentrate on what i'm doing!

I loved the new sky but it didn't work perfect since the brightness kept changing. Didn't reckon much to the fog though. The fog didn't seem real at all to me.

Right, i'm off to try and get off this damn rock!

Gloria, i don't know. It was OK for me an hour ago. Maybe there's too many taffers' downloading this mission? I'd keep trying!

I love this mission, but I have no idea what's going on.
    spoiler:
I'm just running around frobbing everything frobbable, going into those glowing orbs, dodging zombies and floaty things and big muthas. I found the room with Karras's victrola, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Any hints?

I have to start it again! That rock, it sucks! Couldn't get back off it! A speed potion was needed there!
