Masque of the Red Death Feb.25/04

you can play a contest 4 mission that was abandoned for a year & just had the objectives etc. added & some bug fixes (probably not all of them either since it wasn't beta tested or anything )

it should be good for some mild amusement, at least:

    Masque of the Red Death:
    with briefing (18.9 mb)
    without briefing (15 mb)

    cheers

Woohoo! Now I'm doubly glad you came back to us... and after playing, I'll probably be glad this didn't make it in time for C4...

I'm stuck on the same thing, Yandros. It's a very interesting little mission and I love the music and dancing guests.

    Found it! But I cheated...

Sorry raetsel, but I had to open this puppy up in Dromed to figure out how to get out. I figured it was the way, and even tried doing what you have to do, but on the wrong door (figures)....

Anyway, hope you don't mind if I spoil it here.

    spoiler:
You need to shoot one of the fire arrows you get from Red Death at the right large door in the cemetery. Not the left, as I did originally before searching the rest of the mission for half an hour... In hindsight, it makes perfect sense since you get the fire arrows from RD right there in front of the doors...

    LOL!
    spoiler:
I tried that but must have hit the same door you did, Yandros!
Thanks for the help. Now I can go finish the mission.

Do you mean the party rooms?
    spoiler:
In one room, there's a little pond of water with water flowing down into it from the ceiling. Look at the inside of the pool very carefully.

Great FM man! If the upcoming contest 5 FMs are half as clever as this one was, then next week is going to be sheer bliss for Thief fans. I was going to put this in a spoiler, but others have already talked about it so I'll just say it- the haunt doing the macarena had me rolling! A really entertaining short mission- now I'm all hyped for Komags new contest, as I know I can expect more FMs set up like this.
    Sunday can't come soon enough...
    {edit} OH! By the way-

The one C5 mission I've betatested is quite remarkable... in fact, utterly amazing.

Don't forget that although this Sunday is the deadline, it will be at least a week after that probably before Komag opens the floodgates. He has to preview all of them and make sure they conform to the rules, etc. So don't expect to see the C5 missions before the 8th or 9th, would be my guess.

Why do the Girls always have to show us Blokes how to do things?

This FM is utterly amazing! I just finished it without coming here for spoilers. (I didn't want to cheat with this FM) Gives Yandros the Eye's of Doom!

    What can i say?

    spoiler:
Well, first thing i noticed were the Dancing Nobles, with thier custom Motions and cutom Skins! WOW! Then you have all the new objects and i just loved those new rail objects in the rooms. The little button was easy to find. I guess i looked in all the right places in this FM!

    spoiler:
Anyway, as i progress down below, i noticed those Candles and the Spider inside the crack. Those were neat touches. Then i got outside! Spooky! I loved the new Backgrounds too. That has given me an idea for my FM's. I could build some backdrops in Dromed and take some screenies of them then convert them to use as SkyBox textures!
    WOOT! Thanx Raetsel.

This FM is a winner in my book. Congratulations Raetsel. Sit back and be proud of yourself. :thumb

BTW Yandros, you should be ashamed of yourself!
