Fate of the Art (Contest 5 entry) Mar./04

I am 21 short of the 5000 loot goal and I am outta here..I need some hints as to oddly placed loot..I have a few ideas.

    In the guest room
    spoiler:
There is two wooden squares on the wall oppisite the beds..I found the switch under the table to open the one on the right...does the left one open ??

In the room with the saw in the basement there is a sword picture in the wall over the bed...does it open ?

Is any loot outside ? I was dissapointed to find nothing worth while by the drunk outback.

Here's a little list of tough loot I threw together for a different thread about this mission. I'll repost it here so it will be easier to find. It is in no way comprehensive, but it gives directions to some of the harder trinkets. I'd recommend playing this one on the medium difficulty, as the expert loot requirement is crazy-hard. Nighwalker is compiling a complete loot list, so check with her if you are still having troubles.

    spoiler:
    Tiny, little, eye-straining rings:
Under the table saw in the monkey-guy's (Boris) room
Under the big boulder in the storeroom, close to the ladder, on the floor

    Slightly less eye-straining rings:
    In the bath tub
On the font in the storeroom

    Annoying coins:
On table with grass in the secret room off of the master bedroom
In the waste room, in . . . the waste
On the sill beside the bed in the master bedroom, under the ugly face texture

    Diamonds in plain sight:
Around the fountain in the entry room
In the corners of the picture, upstairs
(also a necklace on the painting in the bathroom)

    Secret Stashes
In the room with the woman in the red dress, check under the bedside table for a small switch. It opens a secret panel, revealing more treasure
In Boris' room (monkey-guy), look up in the rafters (near furnace) for a switch. This opens a secret panel, revealing the camera control switch and some loot
In Boris' room, throw aside the crates and check the floor to find a small secret panel. Inside is some loot and the Hammer you are looking for

I don't remember finding anything outside, save for the patrolling guards' purses. The other panel in the woman's room doesn't contain anything, although it is a secret door (I checked this in dromed, just to be sure). I finished the mission 20 loot short, so I guess I still must have missed something, somewhere. I think the hardest things to find are the tiny little gold rings, which are worth a hefty 150 gold!

I really liked this mission (despite some mild loothunt-induced insanity). I love all the custom textures, pictures, and AI skins. Lots of fun I cracked up when I read his journal - all those poor priceless relics! And the intro, with the horn of quintus meeting its demise. Brilliant! Very nice job, whoever you are. Keep up the good work.

    Look! It's art!

I'm short 21 of 5600 loot. I'll have to get out my magnifying glass tomorrow and find it.

Don't look at this if you haven't played this FM:

I don't know how it happened.

Ok, I've had enough wandering and searching, and that piano music is driving me batty! Can someone give me a hint how to

    spoiler:
get into the "Tower of Creation"?

I've been all over looking for a key to that door. I even opened it up in Dromed, and I THINK its
    spoiler:
on the artist guy who is actually INSIDE the tower, which doesn't make sense.
Is there another key/button/switch/object that opens this door?

Other than this little setback, I'm enjoying the mission alot! I'm only short 41 for the (expert) loot objective, so I'm hoping that room has at least this much, then I'll be done, and can move on to the next c5 mission.

    Thanks very much.

He has a copy of the key but there's another one.
    spoiler:
There's a secret room behind a banner in the Master's bedroom. Look on top of the bookcase (you have to jump) in there to find the Tower key.

I've seen that happen before. Every now and then when an AI is searching, they'll end up on top of things they shouldn't...

What's funny is that the guard chased me right out the door and went right up onto the railing.

    I'm still short 21 loot.

    spoiler:
I've jumped across the wall next to the kitchen door
I think some crates should help too...
The only key I found is BEHIND this door, tricky

    Anybody climbed to the roof?

How do you get to the roof. I've tried
    spoiler:
climbing the drain pipe and then hopping onto the lamp, stacking crates, and everything else with no success.

I've tried jumping to the roof many times...
    spoiler:
But it isn't possible I think.
    And nothing interesting there...

Besides, I've found all loot already.

I have just entered the bedroom with the painter and the girl on the very top floor, I killed him to satisfy the objective, when going back into the room with the smiley face painting there is a door to the left of this painting that I cannot open, is this where I should go next? If so how? I have keys M, T, B, G, and F. Also, I still cannot locate the Holy Hammer! Where is the Holy Hammer?

You have got all keys I think, try using your
    spoiler:
    lockpicks

    The Holy Hammer thing is...
    spoiler:
in secret locker under crates in Boris (Monkey-man) room

Finally finished with 5634 out of 5675 loot. Finding all the loot on this one was like pulling teeth. In addition to the previous posters, I will add the following loot locations:

    spoiler:
(Should be fairly obvious) 3 plates in the sink in the kitchen
In the cupboards above the sink
On the shelves of the storage room on the first floor. You may need to jump to get all of it.
(This one was difficult for me) When you enter the basement window from outside the house, immediately look on the left side of the shelves on the floor. There's a bottle there.

It is possible to get onto the roof as well as on top of the starting position.

    spoiler:

I got on the roof by dropping a crate on the railing beside the guest room. Jumping from a flower to the rail and down got me on top of the starting point arch.

I just started this mission and somehow I can't get anywhere, well at least not to the interesting places. Whenever I come out of a door, no matter on what floor, there's one of those security cams outside and there seems to be no way of shutting them off and everything's brightly lit. So what's the secret?

    spoiler:
The easiest way to get around the second floor isn't to come up the stairs but to go back outside and around the house to a spot where there's a balcony. You can climb up to it (a pipe, a vine?? Don't remember which.) and you end up in the guest room which has a light you can shut off. From there you can BJ the guard and that makes it easier to avoid setting off the Watcher. You need to get into the Master Bedroom which is on the far side. You'll eventually find a way to shut off the Watcher's but you have to explore quite a bit of the house to find the right key to get into the room with the control switch.

That's exactly what I did (climbing up the pipe), but I can't get inside the bedroom because I have no key and my lockpicks don't work. Now that I think it over, the lockpicks don't work on any important door and the only key I found so far was inside the waste room in the basement.

The places I was able to get to:

    outside:
all around the house except the area with the drunk guard. All other outside guards knocked out and robot disabled.

    basement:
storage room, waste room, room with two beds and servant

    1st floor:
    dining room, kitchen, toilet

    2nd floor:
    guest room, toilet, bathroom

Are there any more keys in those rooms?

I don't recall the door on the balcony being locked but it only goes into the guest room and you've already been in there.
    spoiler:
The "M" key that you found in the Waste room opens the door on the second floor that leads into the Master bedroom/torture room. Slash the banner on the wall in here to find a secret room. There's a key hidden on top of the bookcase in there. You'll have to jump to see it. In the Master bedroom, you also need to smash a window to drop down into a storeroom full of goodies. You'll find several keys hanging on a rack near the door in there.

Has anyone finished this one on expert - have a loot list? I need 91 loot to meet the requirement and I've found all loot revealed by this thread. This one's a toughy!
