But I have to admit I didn't get the hint either, but somehow (Hey, I'm proud of that) I figured out what the numbers on the floor meant without looking at the ceiling.

Gregorius -spoiler:You shouldn't have had to open the door to the room with the elemental symbols with your sword. I think it's pickable. There should be one of each type of arrow in there, on the shelves. If you used the gas arrow for something else, then I guess you won't be able to get the secret in that room.
As for the explosive devices, they are only there on Expert.
Well, this one's REALLY got me. I understand that some of the doors are sealed on the Klepto skill level, but still... I've only managed around 500 gold out of 1400. So far:
spoiler:I've lit the torches in the Hammer room (nothing happened), gotten the paintings and the coins in the fountain, and opened the safe via the harps. I'm honestly at a loss as to where to go next- my only apparent option is an unpickable door with a button besides it, which I think controlled an elevator.
Please help? It's a beautiful FM, but abjectly maddening.

Maybe I just messed something up somewhere. It might just be better to restart.
EDIT: Okay, I figured out what was wrong.
spoiler:The torches might not have worked because I had to use two flares to light them up. And I couldn't get in the mummy's room because I'd placed the "Death Ward" on it before trying to open the door.
But I'm still under 1,000 loot and with that door still locked. What am I missing?

I've lit all the torches with firearrows and nothing happened! (playing Expert)
So I've loaded some older savegame, and lit the torches with flares this time. And sudenlly it works! Explosive appears and some loot on the wall too
I don't know which other "elemental" room you are referring to, I'm afraid and you've obviously discovered a small bug in the torch room. I'll remember that. Thanks for posting what you figured out!![]()
The other "elemental" room is in the same corridor as the "death ward" room and the "urn" room. Just keep going down the hall - you'll see a non-frobable door. If you break down the door and go in, you'll see elemental tiles: one one each wall (except the wall with the door) and one on the ceiling.
I never did find all the loot. I'm consistently short by about 50.![]()
I didn't break into that room so hadn't seen it. I didn't play the final release on the middle setting, where you have to kill everyone and just assumed you got into that room on that setting. In the beta, there was another small puzzle in that room. I don't know why it's locked up in the final but there's no loot associated with it on Expert or Normal.
You're short 50g. of the total loot? That's strange because there's not much worth 50g. in the mission unless perhapsspoiler:one of the masks in the room that you lock with the Death Ward is worth that much. I didn't keep track of them seperately, just as a total. There are 7 of them.
I have all but one item I need to end this mission, but I seem to be the only one who cannot open the box in the armory. What have I missed that gets me into the box? Thank you.
spoiler:You have to shoot the symbol with the correct arrow. ie fire arrow to fire symbol.

I started Moth To A Flame a couple days ago but when I'm done I'm going for this one next...This FM sounds FUN. My God...so many FM's and only one brain. waaaahhhhhhhh.....! I still haven't played Thief Noir yet either!!!!![]()
I just finished this one and I have to say that its probably one of my favorite fan missions. The puzzles were so much fun, and the atmosphere was perfect. It reminded me of going through an old adventure game. I'm thinking of going through on the other two difficulties now.
How do you open the locked door with the elevator button? Is that the way to the basement people have mentioned? Also, I used my only fire arrow to destroy the watcher next to the harp room. Are there any more fire arrows?

Some areas cannot be reached on Klepto, and change between difficulty levels. The basement is locked out on Klepto.
Properly Paranoid was intended as a 341 mission.

I am in the prime number room in the middle. No way no how can I jump to the next prime number square nect to the chest. It is partially covered by the big tank thing. Is it really possible to make this leap?

Hey, folks! I seem to have run into some bugs for this FM. It's been out for seven years already, so if they're not fixed now, maybe they won't be?In any case, here goes my report.
1. The middle floor elemental symbol room--NOT the one around the corner from the Keeper library, but the one down the hall from the mummy and the other room with the four urns--does nothing on any level.
2. Despite reloading and even restarting the game, I cannot get the Hammerite room's four torches to produce any results on the Scuttle level. There are sounds as if they're unlocking, just like in the Klepto level, but nothing shows up.
Does anybody have any answers?![]()
