As soon as i saw the castle i knew this was gonna be a good mission.

    OK some problems
    spoiler:
I found the switch to the 'stain glass window' in the obleitte, under the bed in the master bedroom, i pressed it but when i got to the obleitte the door wasn't open, please tell me it's not timed. I can't find the switch to the window in the torture room, either, it is nearby isn't it?. Can't find the crystal chunk, entrance to access the bridge to save Awan and find how to steal the hole outsie, otherwise i am hunky doory

Don't panic folks. Sluggy boy comes to the rescue. I'll fix up the zip file and upload it to my site, until Jason gets round to it.

I'll be back here when i got it up!

i dont remember this being in the beta version, you sneaky taffer
hehe Sorry, I was in an EOC net earlier.

There is a lot that wasn't in the beta version, mostly because of the suggestions, but some things like the window you are refering to was a spontaneous idea.

    spoiler:
The switch is in one of the other torture rooms.

    Sluggs

No it only adds the title to the main menu in Thief. It isn't necessary.

    The switch to the
    spoiler:
stain glass window in the oubliette is in the oubliette. The switch under the bed opens something else which can be found in one of the readables.

I jumped in that hole at the start of the mission...

After i posted that, i discovered what that switch did.

Anyway i've found what i think is the switch to the 'door' that looks like a stain glass window at the bottom of the oblettie. There's a swicth underneath the statue directly opposite the first floor entrance to the oblitte, there's a square hole underneath the statue, but can't find switch to move the damn thing out the way any help anybody? please?

the hole is your final objective

    statue
    spoiler:
go into the oubliette, frob the rib cage hugging the wall, go inside and youll find your answer on how to move the statue.

and i found the switch for the fake window:

    spoiler:
go across to the other pair or racks, with your back to that window, low on your low right on the wall

john while traversing the grounds by benny who is guarding cheese, i found

    a
    spoiler:
a narrow rectangular opening, down there i can see a sarcophargus, is there a way down there or is that eye candy?

The rectangular opening is the chimney for the sitting room fireplace. I wanted to do that better but I was tired of fighting polygon problems. Everything I did required a bandaid somewhere else.

Your mission is similar to mind, though minds unfinished. My polys were off the scale because i had a row of 20 windows looking into a room, eventually i had to stick a wall in place to stop the view straight into the room. Plus i had lots of water, too much in fact it kept 'disappearing'.

    Great mission BTW.

think i have to restart this one...
    spoiler:
i jumped on the bridge in the oubliette, but jumped back out before the door closed & can't seem to kill the woman from afar - up on the 3rd level of the castle

oh well, it's a beautiful place, i don't mind really

(and the polys... oh my! thanks for giving us this - you must have sat on pins & needles plenty of times while portalizing very glad you got it playable with leaving the detail there is! *is -so- not going hill climbing*)

John- I haven't been playing much Thief the past week, so I'm stoked about a new one, especially when SW raved about it. I LOVE high loot counts and secrets and Bafford (oh my!)...this definitely looks like my type of mission!!!

    Thank you Raetsel.

Actually portalizing or optimizing rather was not bad at all. It took maybe 3 to 4 minutes. I did have problems with the pathfinding, so now the ai can't wander far from the moat bridges.
