CoSaS on Hold for 8 more months (pssst... the 8 months are up)

CoSaS has been and will be on hold until mid-Dec, at which point work will briefly resume until the start of the new year, after which it will be back on hold again until the following summer. The reason for this is that most of the CoSaS team is made up of full time college students, and we have found it impossible to continue work on the project while at the same time giving our school work the time it requires. We regret having to do this, but it's a juggling act we simply cannot manage.

We are all very pleased with the work we have done on CoSaS over the past year, and there is no intention to let the project die. That is why I am making this post, instead of just fading away.

If you have any questions or comments, please make them here.

Dan, thank you for posting this instead of leaving us wondering. We all completely understand how RL often interferes with mission work, and also that RL has to have top priority. Best of luck in your studies, and I for one will wait patiently for the next great CoSaS release.

I can easily understand how you and the other team members can't devote time to this during the school year. I'm glad to hear it's only on hold and not being dropped! I, for one, will happily wait patiently until the project is complete and I'll look forward to playing it. Thanks for keeping us up to date on what is going on with the project.

Agreed RL is just annoying enough to interfere with what's really important (us CoSaS fans), but worry not! We understand

But we better get a high-quality mission after all this waiting, or you'll all find angry crowds at your doors

Since we've kept everyone waiting so long, I can ask a few prying questions about Mission X and the rest of the campaign... as long as they're not too prying.

    Thanks for this update!

Everything I really wanted to say was perfectly said by Nightwalker, so I'll just thank you for continuing the work on CoSaS, and cheer you taffers on. Real Life takes priority, no question about it. I'll wait, just as long as it takes!

The best things are worth the wait.

I appreciate the announcement, but I hope we don't get a similar one from the T2X team.

In that case, what broadly happens plotwise after Gathering at the Inn?

Glad to hear you're not letting Cosas rule your life but that you're not kicking out of your life completely. We can wait *

*Having said that, by the time you do finish and release the rest of Cosas I'll be in your current situation myself and probably won't have the time to play it.

On reflection, 8 more months really isn't so bad, considering the project has been in the making for a few years now. Like everyone else has said, I'll wait patiently and be glad in the meantime that it wasn't dropped altogether.

Thanks for the update, thanks for your time already spent. All I want to say has already been said before in the previous posts, so I think a 'ditto' is in order!
    And remember, education is fun.
Well sort of, going to to college and shagging everything is fun

Oh..........how I loved this one for a Christmas present .....
But don't worry, if life lets us, we all will be here when you're able to finish the game.
Always remember: the're a lot of Thief Fan players, but the're only some who can create a really good mission, one every Taffer is willing to wait for. ..... OK .....

So, take your time, the're other things in life, more important than the Thiefgame (can I lie or WHAT!) ?!

Have yourself a great year, study hard and let's hear from you next year .....eh ....PLEASE ???!

There're angels who playThief and angels who don't ........ both go to heaven ............
    Dare to join .............

Wrong decision. The unselfish thing to do would be to sacrifice your lives for your loving fans, who have been so eagerly awaiting the release of Mission X.

Does this mean you lost your gf or that the first "heat" is over?

    Just being curious, I know.

This is actually good news I was begining to think it would never be. Eventually is far better than never

While it's sad to hear that it is being delayed ... it is still much better news than "We axed it!" In the meantime ... We can wait Taffers, we can wait

I rather have it delayed than it be cancelled. Speaking of delays. Where's T2X??

yea, cancelation after all this time would have been a bit horrific...... Maybe they need time to "absorb" the new "ideas" from TDS...... AS if..... LOL

TO SPARHAWK: No, cheated on her twice... no, three times, to lose her, so now all that friendless time means i've got time to mod ;-).

Can't cancel, at least not Mission X. After that, we'll have to see...

Hey, the fact that there's a timetable at all makes me happy. Thanks for the update.
