Just out of curiosity: how long did it take you?

I can't help myself but it remembers me somehow on the Zerg's from Starcraft
actually it took only about 10 hours. I was surprised how easy it was.

Another ridiculously big thing by me, I'd say it's one of my best. It's part of my "Thief 4 daydreams - collection"

    Wow nice work Platinumoxicity

I have to ask, did you just rip a backdrop from the thief 2 sky and then draw that city over top of it? That sky looks oddly familiar.

In other news, WOOT TTLG is back! \ o /

The sky(line) is from TDS. One can notice the water tower on the left for instance.

I actually used no reference whatsoever, lol. I haven't had TDS installed in over 3 years, I don't like the game, plus I try to have minimum reference to TDS in all of my art just to show my appreciation for the original two. Have you got a picture of that sky? I want to see how close it came to be. I can't find a picture anywhere and I really don't want to install tds just for that .

I don't see how that's even possible with Paint, I just made 5 "layers" of buildings in separate images, added that hazy gradient to them and laid them on top of eachother, here's a tutorial:

Notice e.g. the water tower here on the right side and on the left side in your picture, the gaping arch windows (which look really cool) and the hanging clothes here; left aside the colours and style in general.

Well, the similarity is at least noticeable.

Oh wow, fantastic work P. Your paint skills are amazing! I seriously thought your backdrop was from a thief 2 screenshot or something. You did a great job of capturing the thief 2 sky feel.

Whoa, I've never seen that picture before! I thought I'd seen every piece of official Thief artwork but I guess I was wrong . I've seen the other one though, the one with the clocktower.

From the T3 Intro movie, it's reduced, horizontally-flipped, extends further, and has another layer for depth, than that nice and crisp image.

I guess this counts as fan-art...

Now that I see it... it might take a long time still, but I can imagine a place for that church.

    Hey, nice!

But I have to ask, what's that bit on the right? It looks like another arm, but with no hand?

    Very nice work, Villuvilluvillu!

I don't think so. I don't see it wrap around his head, and it actually looks like "bags" under the eyes

Digital: actually no glasses - but now that you say it, it does look that way.

sNeaksie: as of "wrapping around head", in thiefs setting I imagine some sort of glasses without frames on ears would still be in use.

    In before jtr7, hahaha

    Farkus:

By the way, if anyone is looking for a place to host images that won't ramdomly delete them like imageshack and the others, try the wiki

Add image files with the naming format "FA_fiction title_author.file format" : ie: FA_cool garrett_noname.jpg, ro FA_someting_Stevetheartist.gif. And add [[Category:Fan_Art]] in the Summary box.

They can be easily added to any forum.
