Thanks, Clearing. I dig your stuff in this thread.

As far as my output, I haven't done any more Thief related art... yet, but I do want to when I find the time. My sketch-blog has a bunch of scribbles (mostly speedpaints) on it, if you are interested.

Call me cheap and romantic, but I like the landscapes in your sketch blog.

Tis my assignment to give to thee a warning! Or rather, sort of a preview:

I call it a preview because this is not the whole piece (as you can tell by hearing the end, I guess). I have scored further parts already, but they're not really polished, plus recording it is a REAL pain in the ass. So I would like to hear your opinion on whether it's worth being worked on.
If you have trouble associating this with Thief at all - well, there's that Mech tune which is actually the main theme of this piece. Just use your creativity and imagine a horde of Mechanists marching to war against those wretched Hammers or something - should work just fine

Awaiting feedback! This is my 2nd orchestral piece and 1st recording, btw.

    Wow!

Do you use any 3D modeling or photographs in your artwork? The depth there is perfect, and the window as well. Drawn from scratch?

No 3d, made from scratch. I did use photo textures for the floor and window and to add some general noise to the picture.

Very nice.... It reminds me of the level from the thief deadly shadows demo.

Speaking for myself, I think I'm slowly getting tired of those overly (digitally-) graded images, just like with those unnaturally cool posing heroes. So I'd vote for the second.

I like the first picture better than the second, but I like that one too! We are talking about fantasy here. Fantasy and video games is first and foremost a creative outlet, or escape from reality. If unnaturally cool heroes is not what you are into, then why employ video games in the first place?

I thought "slowly getting tired" was clearly referring to the amount of color-graded images and super-cool hero posing and not the things themselves.

Nice march! The following is my opinion, not as a musician but as a consumer of music (audio/video editing and voice acting; is it bad that I usually listen to music in Audacity so I can see the wave form?).

0-45: opening section is dark and ominous
46-1:55: second section is more cheerful
1:55-2:10: clear bridge to 3d section
2:10-end: third section is a variation on the opening, with bits of the second passage included, and an outro that finishes the song well

The melody has a downturn at 2:42 where you are bridging two passages, but my reaction was "what was that?"

As an audio editor, I particularly like how one could cut off the first passage and still have a complete song, if he needed something shorter.

Pretty cute, but I got a question: why does Garrett hold the sword by the blade rather than hilt? It sorta hurts, methinks ;/

Probably because he handed it to his left hand in order to grab the money. And it only hurts when it cuts.

Even more questionable than that, is that Garretts shadow is going the wrong way!

Doesn't DromEd have problems with phantom lights or something?

    Something about the mouth.

Its subtle. Like saying someone 'looks English'. There's definitely a racial look there too. But it is very subtle. If you asked me what it was, I wouldn't be able to point anything specific out.

I can see it here, though I don't necessarily agree. Not sure what I'd call it.
