Thief Lan event - 11-13 Oct 2019 - Brownhills, England

    UK Thief gaming Lan

Thinking of having a thief/dark mod gaming Lan in the UK and seeing who would be up for this. No date is set as of now as i need to know numbers and when people can make it if they wish to have a Lan. We will also be having a retro Lan at the same time.

I have location in Brown Hills Birmingham UK for up to 40 people with indoor sleeping and local hotels, and might be able to get hold of some computers/laptops for people to use, but if you can it would be an idea to bring your own PC/laptop.

At the same time I want to make this a charity event. I mean to stream the event and try and raise money for Macmillan cancer support. This is also in memory to our authors who have left us and I think helping raise money for this would be a good way to honour their memory. Visit the site

    www.macmillan.org.uk.

The Lan in October did not happen due to lack of interest. Would like to try again in 2020. Anyone who wants to attend should let me know and ill add ya to the list.

I'm across the pond unfortunately. But I hope others in the UK/EU will make the trip!

Making this a sticky temporarily to keep it on people's radar. This is more effective now that there is only one permanent megasticky thread.

Lord Soth, great idea. I am in the US as well so canít attend.

I had the pleasure of meeting 2 authors in the Boston area years ago. Spent an afternoon eating burgers, drinking beer and talking Dromed/Thief. It was a real pleasure.

Awesome idea Lord Soth. I might even be able to attend, but I can't promise yet. I'll keep following this topic though to stay updated

Hi Lord Soth! I'm not sure if you're on Facebook or not but I help run this Retro gaming page and we have quite a few from the Midlands area that will probably be interested in going to this event, heck I might even go even though I'm based in London!

It's a friendly group, everyone's welcome to join for that Blast from the Past!

Good luck with this, it's a brilliant idea!

Updated main post with more details. We are now ready to start taking bookings for the lan event and hope some people from the thief community will attend.

The event will be streamed by at least two people there, will update links for those closer to the time.

I'm afraid this is too soon for me. I have a vacation a little before and after october so for me it will most likely get too expensive. Pity because I was seriously considering this

Have fun to those who get to play!
