I am one REALLY mad dragon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GOD ******!

I AM REALLY MAD NOW! I have shelled out up to 50 HARD earned bucks for a
game that turned out to be a piece of bull diarrhea (as in nothing solid about it!) and when I hit the jackpot by finding a maybe not 'flawless' but definitely
shining diamond known as "The Cassandra Project" (and for free no less!!!),
    what happens?---

THE WONDERFUL & IMAGINATIVE GENIUSES BEHIND THIS
BEAUTY DROP THE DAMN THING BEFORE IT'S BARELY BEGUN !

Now- I know that the guys & gals who develop mods have their own lives they have to live; and that work, play, sex , and other interests, take up a persons time & energy; and that making a mod MUST be a labor of love
    (hell-you sure as hell aren't getting paid! ) BUT--- IT"S A CRIMINAL
AND CRUEL ACT TO START SOMETHING THAT YOU GOTTA KNOW IS GOING TO
BE EXTREMELY ENJOYED--- AND THEN NOT FINISH IT!!!!!!

One of the other posters said something about having some sort of Cass.
Project content on a server; how about doing something like that but not
necessarily multiplayer, if I could send you guys ten dollars(or so) in order to be given a code/password to access a mission or two, I WOULD!!! I would do so for every one or two missions you guys came up with (as long as you kept the quality you started with! ) And I bet there are a lot of other gamers who would do the same, so you could 'conceivably' make a nice bit o cash from it! So whadda ya think ?

Ach, I think we were all disappointed that we didn't get to realise an entire storyline, but you have no idea what it cost us to get just the first episode out.

The bare truth is that Deus Ex is a real pain in the bum to work with, even now I can't get the editor to run on my new machine.

The technology and the rest of the gaming world is moving on and we'd be idiots not to move along to newer tools, armed with experience and the bitter lessons we learned making Cassandra.

On the other hand, you have no idea how close we came to producing precisely squat for literally years of hard work, so I for one can say that I'm very glad we did that much.

Well, now I'm hiding my head 'neath my tail!

I didn't mean to demean (hey-that'd make a good song lyric!) the work you
WERE able to get out. It's just that ( like all dragons ) I don't take well to
being teased (unless fully pleased follows) ,(that's why I don't go to strip clubs!).

What about Deus Ex: Invisible War? Is the code in that any easier to work with? Could that be used to produce Cassandra content?

Sorry to be such a pest but we dragons also tend to have a problem letting a thing go!

It's a possibly childish way of expressing my amusement. At first I saw "Welcome Our Newest Member: MAD DRAGON" and ho-hummed and later on lo and behold, a thread starting with "I AM A REALLY MAD DRAGON!!!!". Bwahhaha, do you see...Right, it's funny to me at least.

    What? Improper pagan speak? >:U

That's pagan spoken by the TRICKSTER HIMSELF, you fool. And in the first game, like, when pagan speak wasn't raped like in DS. In the Maw of Chaos the Trickster upon spotting Garrett, says "Garrett, you thiefsie fool, lives you still?".

I love you MAD DRAGON!!!! if only for the name, which is splendid.

As AB says. It's just life, especially in a mod circles. We'd have liked to go on and done more stuff, but life started getting in the way. Its talent is doing other stuff, which hopefully will find a place in your heart.

    Go see - say - AB's Unreal 2 probject he's working on.

And do we get to know what game it is you're talking about?

Anyway, forget about Cassandra and go download Zodiac. It may not be as over-the-top ambitious as Cassandra, but at least it got finished.

I'm really glad you liked it, crazy dragon dude. But to be fair, we didnt drop it before we'd barely begun. We worked on it for something like 2 years before we released the first episode, and then some people (notably A_B and Kieron) carried on working on it for another 6-12 months before it petered out.

From our points of view, its kind of happySad, because yeah, we're dissapointed that the whole grand vision didnt get realised, but on the other hand, we are relieved and proud that we actually managed to release what we did, and that people think its pretty good. And obviously being called wonderful and imaginitive geniuses by crazy fools on the internet is nice too.

The spirit lives on though, check out www.alwaysblack.com to see what A_B is up to know (he's a figurehead of the New Games Journalism, dontchaknow), and there are rumblings that parts of the Narcissus Entity might see fit to investigate the code entity known as the Source Engine one day.

Oh, now I'm a figurehead? I don't know about where you live Mr. Cobb, but where I'm from a man doesn't stand idly by and let someone just call him a figurehead.

    That's fighting talk, mister.

Maybe I should try it too... strange to think that I'm making a Deus Ex mod myself and the only one I've actually played so far is Cassandra...

I wish I was that mad, maybe my psychiatrist would prescribe anti-psychotics then...

Still, I still find it quite sad. And I am slightly annoyed chapter 4 never saw the light of day. But, who knows, maybe someone will learn something from Cassandra, and that someone might have backing...

Wouldn't bet the car on it, though. Y'know, if I owned one.

Naw, just pissed. Name a thing, anything, and I bet there is at least one
aspect of it that pisses me off! ( but, as one wise monkey boy once said-
"it's better to be pissed OFF than pissed ON!!!) ((and lets NOT EVEN get into
    being shat on!)).

I love anyone who loves me-for any reason! I've always had a knack for coming up w/ cool avatar names. In my old AD&D circle all my buds would give me the specs & descrips. of their characters so that I could name 'em!

YAH---LIFE IS ONE HELL OF A DAMN BUTT-IN-SKI!
What are you refering to when you say "IT"? And what other stuff?
Where is AB's U2 project hosted? (Of course I have to get a copy of
    U2 first!)

I meant no one game in particular (hence the "up to" wording) as there have been more than a few that should bever have been thought of,let alone actually released! But I do regret buying- Tomb Raider(non-intuitive controls & NO MUSIC!!!); Caesar (I could never keep everyone happy or produce all the goods I was supposed to!); and most games from Dreamcatcher/"The Adventure Company" (has anyone ever notified them of the wonderful new input device called A MOUSE? (although it is an adventure in carpal tunnel syndrome to use only the keyboard for ALL game input!

Have recently played Zodiac-way cool mod! Talk to Steve Tack (it's creator)
on Planet Deus Ex/Forums on a regular basis! Nice guy!!!
