Thief-"The Chain Project"...got some spare time?

A few of us have hit upon the idea of doing a silly "chain" mission.

    see thread ... http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92798

The concept is simple. Whoever is next in line takes the .zip file, adds what they like and sends it on. It doesn't have to be pretty or make sence. It just has to work. It also has to be done quickly. No sitting on the file for days on end. Just try to figure out when you might have 30-90 minutes or whatever...try to "get in line" around that time, do your thing and pass it on.

It will probably be a good idea to stick to basic T2 OM stuff and the dark.gam system. That way we all have the same tools and newbies can get in on the fun with a minimum of trouble.

This thread will be for general discussion and so on.

I'd suggest we don't post any more open links here.

I just added a little bit and gave the file back to Fletcha das Sombras so he's got it now.

So who's up for a mini DromEd session and some silly fun??

I'll send it one more time in a minute. Then maybe let's give yahoo a chance to catch up. I'll check in in a few hours and see if you got it.

I think posting links to the FM is fine, just as long as its no longer valid. We need to give the people a sample of what this FM is about or they might not join. For example, since Slyfoxx is working on "part 4" we could give the links to 1-3. Everyone would then know these are outdated chains and we wont get two part 4's. Authors just ask to join and who ever posts first gets to add to "part 5" and so on. Then we would allow everyone to look at "part 4" to see the progress. That way they could get ideas of what they want to put in and where they want to put it.
heres part three with John9818a, me and Flecha dos Sombras. Just remeber this is NOT the one you add on to.

Edit: I guess this means Thiefsie Fool is author #5

One more thing, you cant erase anyones work. If you dont like it build your own section. You can add to other peoples work I suppose like chairs beds a new bathroom access for my bedroom.

Ofcourse, precautions will be taken. E-mail is a pretty good method for this kind of stuff, I offered the possibility of upload only in the case of emergencies (non-working e-mail etc)

Nice work with that bar SlyFoxx.
I will put more somethings in my area an send it to Thiefsie Fool.

I will need to correct a thing:
Thiefsie Fool placed loot in his part, but didn't reduce the loot in mine. So you can end the mission without seeing all my part or his part.

Vlad Midnight, do you want the misssion to see it?

Whaaa? I didn't even touch it yet.

Hmmm, is the possibility of a custom .gam completely out of the question?

If I can, I will have a go at it.

I don't see why not, people could just continually update it with their own stuff.

This seems like a great idea. Imagine the mission that could be created with EVERYBODY'S spare time put together.

RE" Loot objective. I'd suggest we keep track of what we add as we go. Maybe a running total at the bottom of the read-me text file. In addition maybe bump the Quest Data loot total up to something insane like 20,000. That way the mission won't end too soon as folks add more. When it's all done we should then have a good idea of the total loot avaliable. Then whoever is last can set the real loot objective total to something like 70% of what is avaliable.

I added a fine wine and a purse(12) so that should bring the total up to 262 for now.

    I have a sugestion:
Maybe everyone should place a scrool, in you part of the map, saying something to Garrett. Like a tip about all the history.

I am sending the mission to Thiefsie Fool.
    Good Luck!

I reduce the loot of one of my purses, so I thinked* that the loot was only the needed. But I didn't see your purse.
So the loot is in 212 now.

(*I forgot the past of "to think" )

    And I'm spent.

    For now.

http://pstdgt.softnews.ro:88/chris/Quickie5.zip ( I know I said uploading wasn't such good idea, but hey, what could happen? Besides, the other contributors should be able to check on things, have at thee.)

I believe Speesh is the first that wanted to join in after me so I guess it's his turn. Go go.

EDIT: Oh crap, a room 0 error! It doesn't seem to be lethal, but I can't find the faulty roombrush either.
