    A request

The editor release is certainly wonderful news, and I will now be fulfilling my promise that I would only buy Thief 3 when the editor was released. Since there are clearly some people here with helpful contacts at Eidos, please consider this request from one of the rare breed of Deus Ex mappers:

Can there be any word on a DX:IW editor? Either
"The Thief editor was first because of higher demand, but a DX editor will follow after we do X, Y, and Z."
"We can't release the DX editor because of technical/legal issues X, Y, and Z."
    or
"The thief editor will be the only release, but an enterprising modder could make it work with DX by doing X, Y, and Z."

The 3rd option would seem to be the only one even remotely plausible, as there is no "we" - Ion Storm is gone.

Thank you Eidos and Ion Storm and ...

Like many, I did a double-take at the news of a TDS Editor. After learning that Ion Storm's doors were closed for good a couple of weeks back, I had been preparing to uninstall TDS knowing there was no chance of this wonderful series carrying on. Today, my fears have abated and my hope for a 5 golden hammers Thief DS FM has begun.

I can only guess that this decision by Eidos (to release the editor) had been decided a long time before consolidating their studios. I'm amazed that we petioners had an effect and of course our friend at Eidos, friends at IS and all the serious TTLG folk. BRAVO guild - we did it!

    LONG LIVE Garrett - I'm guessing we're allowed to mod with his highness? ;-}

    Merci du fond du coeur.

I think no other comment is necessary.

Everyone at Ion Storm and the testers from here are seriously cool people. And of course thiefpetition.com.

Now I've actually got a reason to re-install T3, and i'm sure it'll be on my HD for years now.

I hope you guys from Ion Storm landed some decent jobs. Having "Previous work: Ion Storm" on your resume should get you a job anywhere :P.

Makes me happy that I did not say I would eat my underwear if an editor was ever released.

    I was losing faith.

Woah... The Editor has been released? And with all that sneakery behind the scenes and great dedication and hardship and closures and my oh my... :0

Well done all of ya. Now I'll have even more to look forward to when I finally, at a long bloody last, get a TDS-capable machine up to speed.

Many thanks to all of you who were involved in making this come about!

I'm right with Hit Deity there. My wife and I got a house and settled down and were planning children but now she's going to have to wait until I've finished my FM first

You dev's had better watch your back's because she wants your blood!

From a personal point of view - excellent work, really appreciated and I hope you know it!

    Incredible

I'm stunned. To those at ISA who managed to get the damn thing out, and of course the moderators and fans who were involved:

    Thanks!

Not that I'll have time to do anything with it, but it'll be interesting to play some new thief 3 content.

I'd like to add a little addendum here.

Ulukai, Gingerbread Man and David may have had their fun with the pre-release versions (if you could call beta and usability testing "fun"), but it's within the current maelstrom of activity that they're really earning their corn. David in particular is doing a great job with the daunting task of trying to keep the whirlwind of new information organised and accessible. What's more, it's going to be like this for quite a while longer until there's a reasonably comprehensive body of documentation available.

Kudos guys, you're doing a great job.

Very nice of Krypt to take the time to share his knowledge too.

Ah, it's about time! I was starting to get bored with my current time syncs. Now, where did my notebook go... I wonder just how far this beast can be pushed. I've got a lot of stuff I'd like to try out.

Thanks for sticking with it and making it possible!

Thank you so much... this made my day. I have been literally waiting for this for years. This is a dream come true for me. Finally, we can bring more of the art and dreams to Thief 3 that so many of us have been imagining since our first time playing a Thief mission.
