I suspect they are both "work in progress". I think you can ignore them for the time being.

That bookcase has a black rectangle in it because the author probably used the "bookcase door" object where s/he just wanted a bookcase, and didn't uncheck the "Blocks vision?" prop to get rid of the rectangle.

How can i get into the metal door in the stone wall upstairs? I tried all 7 keys, and none of them will open it.

I had a look in DromEd and there is nothing on the other side of the door to the pub
